  • Wow i second that! Great work on the pots

I would love to switch Ds1's electrical things off during the week but I can just imagine the reaction! He seems to think he can do his homework with his phone going off every second, his kindle on and his t.v on too. Things have certainly changed since my day  we only had the t.v on for an hour if that after school whilst dinner was done! And not a console to be seen in our house!

Its not so much gas bill I am worried about but the electric, like you its laptops, computer consoles. My lot charge their mobile phones but when they are fully charged don't switch them off but leave them where they are until they are ready to use them.

Was thinking the other day of buying a new alarm clock, cos the one I have is mains only, which even though low usage is still contributing to the bill. We have sky tv, does everybody leave this on over night or switch it off.xx

  • Last night's cottage pie was lovely brizzle, you are welcome anytime.;)

DS2 has been fine about 'losing' his games console during the week......its DS3 who has had a problem tonight.

amber we always switch the plugs off at night, nothing is left on standby.

DFW it was exactly like that too when i was younger.:)

Came home tonight and OH had put the heating on:eek:

I also received a letter about the bcard loan asking me to pay the outstanding balance of £2900 odd. Not sure what's happened to our 'agreement'. OH going to call stepchange tomorrow and see where we go from here.

On the plus side today was NSD.

  • OH has spoken to Stepchange about the letter re bcard loan, they said ignore it. Apparently we are due a review with SC and when we've had that SC will contact bcard. All seems a bit strange to me to be honest. OH didn't seemed to be concerned (but he never does :(), so will do our review (online this time) and see how it goes.

Yesterday was another NSD. Today OH's going to supermarket and get bread, cereal and milk. Spag bol for tea, sauce out of the freezer.:)

Hope the review will get the whole B'Card issue sorted Alice. Try not to worry about it, I am sure it will all be fine xx

Re Games Consoles etc, I have been trying to explain to my girls this week than when I was their age we would never have dreamt of calling a friend house, or them us after 9pm at night yet their friends seem to think nothing of texting constantly still at 10.30 / 11pm . I find it really intrusive but I'm sure the girls think I am just weird and moaning for no apparent reason !

Mrs PG we've had that too. This may seem over the top but when it gets too much I've made DS2 leave his phone on the landing so he can get a good undisturbed night sleep. I did the same with DS1 when he was younger. Teenagers can be grumpy enough without not having enough sleep........:rotfl:

    xx

P.S. I must say this not having the games console in the week has been great this week. DS has actually sat with us for a bit and talked. We've actually found out that he's not happy with some stuff at school, (nothing too serious but even so it was bothering him and we are now going to help him sort it out) so will carry on as we are for a bit.:)

  • OH's payday to day, yippee. Paying the usual stuff today.

We do have extra spends, OHs going to get light bulbs tonight. We need a few, particularly the outside lights (by the door which is in the pitch black at the moment). I think they will come to about £18.

Also the 'other car' needs a bulb. That will be the 3rd car bulb we have replaced this year!!

I spoke to OH last night about the possibility of us managing our DMP ourselves in the new year. There are few cards that I think the debt isn't enforceable (having read some posts on here and the messages we have received in the past). It's just a thought at the moment.:o
