  • Morning Alice.

Hate it when things like that happen with cards:mad:, stupid girl should have told you it was all cards instead of embarrassing you.

    Hope you have abetter day.x.
  • I agree with PWPS - it's so annoying when that happens.

It happened to me the other day in Boots - the lady said I had probably typed my pin number in to fast:cool: and did I want to try again - I said no (just in case I was the problem and I had no money) and used a different card.

When I got home I did have money in my account:T
  • Oh it's very embarrassing as this happened to me when all the HSBC banks went down (anyone else get caught out with that?!) unfortunately for my pride though, no one knew what had gone on so I was just told that my card had been declined three times VERY LOUDLY (why can they never whisper it!!!) I had to fill out a form and promise to go back and pay for my petrol. I honestly could have died :( ! Found out later what the problem was and all was ok with my account so did feel better (slightly lol)

Weekend's seem to go far too quickly don't they. I woke up this morning thinking yay Sunday....until reality set in and I realised i'd gotten my days muddled :o:( !

  • I've recovered from the embarrassment now thank you ladies. :) But you're right why do they have to shout across the store!! I should be used to it now, it's happened a couple of times at the sburys petrol station.:o

The last few days have gone in a blur, have been really busy. Monday was a LSD just paid for parking, yesterday was a NSD.

When I (finally) got in last night I forced myself to set the slow cooker up for tonight's tea. Don't have much luck with the SC so will see how this sausage casserole turns out.;)

I'm at home tonight so will catch up with the kids and OH, update spending diary/budget, get some ironing done (pegged out yesterday, just needed airing.:)) and chill a bit (mmm hopefully)

You know even after all the running around I've been doing I haven't lost a lb, not an ounce. How unfair is that.:rotfl:

OH calling into supermarket after DS3 swimming to get some bits....at least he will stick to the list!

Last night's tea done in the sc was ok, a bit bland but clean plates all round.:)

Have just called sky and got a £5 discount, will be £43 per month. Also offered a new HD box. New deal doesn't tie us in so we'll have another think about it. I know its a lot of money but......:o

Also had letter from swintons about house insurance.....we can pay them a deposit of £23 now and when we get our quote if they can't get the 'right' price for us we get a refund.......erm I don't think so Mr Swinton. Whats that all about???

Made a jelly tonight (when the going gets tough...the tough make a jelly. lol). Will have jelly and fruit in lunchboxes tomorrow as we've run out of yogurts.

Today I've paid childminder, lottery and put £20 in leisure pot. OH has got petrol tonight £50 eek! as we have a lot of travelling this weekend with DS's sports club.

I've ran out of hair stuff and running low on shampoo and conditioner so will need to get some toiletries over the weekend.

It was once suggested in a Harv3ster restaurant that I leave DS as deposit  while I nipped home to fetch my purse. Obviously I complained to the manager and left with a voucher for a free meal for 4 and a cleared bill.

Many a time afterwards I threatened to return and try to offload him that way again :D

  • Another busy day! Have pegged out, been to sburys and swept the drive.:)

Spent £63 in sburys, £4.50 of that was on hair stuff, 3 for 2 so got shampoo and conditioner and then the serum for free. Ended up with sburys own brand (the posh version :rotfl:) never used it before but everything else was so expensive, and I've paid £4.50+ for the serum alone before.

Have done the meter readings this morning and we have used £30s worth in a week. Think we will be turning the heating off again. I should be back to normal now as I don't need to do my Florence Nightingale bit anymore so will be able to keep a closer eye on things.

Also I've noticed how much electric the TV and the games console use. Many a time I go into the living room and the TV is blaring away and nobody is in there. Also we've decided that DS2 will only have his games console on at the weekends. Its too much of distraction with school work etc (This may sound harsh but I'm sure he'll realise it in the long run)........hopefully he'll sleep better too.

Yesterday was a spend day on petrol £45!! DS2s football match was in completely the opposite way to the relative we have been helping out. Anyway its all done now.

Update on pots (haven't done one for ages...tut tut), 20p pot upto £170 and £2 pot upto £196.

Off to make cottage pie for tea. xx
