  • Don't get me started on tax credit, I swear they don't know their ar$£ from their elbow:mad::mad:

Fingers crossed they get it sorted quickly.

Totally agree pwps, its the time it takes to get through to a 'human' that gets me............but they are open this sunday to help people that still need to do their review, like we should be most grateful!!

Unfortunately I couldn't post our review as DS1 was still on there and he needs to be taken off......even though I've already told them.

  • Hi Alice! Hope you're finished with all the ironing now? I won't be ironing another thing until September 1st ;) as I only ever iron uniforms. In fact when i'm shopping if something looks like it might crease badly I just don't buy it anymore :p (i know this is one extreme to another lol)

Tax credits have tripled our money this year??????? Confused but it did seem VERY low last year ...although not convinced they've quite got it right this year either. I'm taking it though as if i've been overpaid I will just let them take it back next year. In the mean time I can top up funds, get down debts and then they can have what they like next year. We've given them the right amounts of what we've earned so I don't quite get how they manage to c0ck it up year after year?!

  • Hi Alice :j

I have a horrid laptop, it is an Acer and it overheats constantly and turns itself off. I ended up buying a laptop cooling tray from Amazon, it plugs into the USB and then has fans that blow upwards so the vents from the laptop are above the fans. It wasn't very expensive and was definitely cheaper than buying a whole new laptop :D

Hope everything is going ok for you:p
    Just keep swimming!

  • Couldn't get on here the other day (forum was on read only) and panic set in.:rotfl:

Friday went to get OHs shoes, spent £25 in Mat-ar-lan, shoes for OH and some socks for the kids.

Yesterday spent £35 on haircuts all round (except DS3), £54 in sburys, put £20 in the card and practically all of the budget on drinks at the wedding reception, £16 on 5 drinks. I did smuggle some drinks in for the kids but by the time we'd bought a drink for the bride and groom and one round for just us that was nearly all the money gone.:(:o

Have done the meter readings, gas and elec for the last 2 weeks - £24.

Petrol spends so far £140, groceries £400.
I've got a £5 off £40 in A1di voucher but have to use before 1st August.

Other spends last few days, window cleaner £10 and have increased DS2s pocket money for the holidays to £5 per week but he does have to do extra jobs. Still need to drop childminders money round (just half weekly fee).

    Hope everybody is OK. xx

  • Today was a NSD, number 8 (I think!).

Me and DS1 sorted out his bedroom. DS2 has now got lots of 'new' clothes, he's quite happy having 'hand me downs'.:)

We've had lots of thunder and rain today so DS3 has been a bit bored. I did suggest we start sorting out his bedroom but for some unknown reason he didn't find it very appealing.:D

Really must get some stuff on fleabay......just got to get off my backside and do it!!

  • Haha at the cleaning out the bedroom suggestion! I remember my mum saying the same to me and my sisters. We would do anything but that and my kids are the same! I generally like to get them to help elsewhere when they are avoiding the bedroom clean ;)

Rain here today :( hasn't stopped. Weather report said sunny intervals with a few showers. Are they ever right??? !

  • The laptop is really struggling now.:( just taken nearly 2 hours to get it to work.

I had a really busy few days but think I have kept the wrong company. Met up with so called 'friends' yesterday (the ones we were invited to go on holiday with)and they were spending money like water. Buying the kids silly little toys, wanted to eat at a very expensive pub for lunch (even though I'd suggested and it had been agreed on a picnic), and to cap it all I ended up travelling the furthest as they didn't fancy my suggestion of where to meet up. So feeling a little pee'd off.

Need to update spending diary/budget, do a meal plan and get back on track.

    xx
