  • Evening, odd day weather wise but managed to do lots of jobs in the garden. Placed an order for trellis which will finish the garden. Sadly arrives after the BH but not to worry.

Sunset is spectacular this evening and the air smells beautiful.

Right, a glass of wine is calling, then a late supper.

We are looking at doing up a garden area where I work for patients etc and so decide to plan garden party in August to raise money. We have a hall we use for training and I suggested using it for table top sales (pay a fiver and sell your stuff) I envision my loft being finally sorted..

What a great thing to do. I'm loving seeing things leave the house :T

I meant to post on your diary - good luck with your secondment, if you decide to do it.

  • Tilly, in have been decluttering for a couple of years now, and considering that only two of us live here, we have not stopped removing items. What I have noticed is that it works better as an ongoing project, as when you return to a drawer that you worked on a year ago, and find things that have not been used during that year, you can then let them go. Just half an hour a week keeps on top of it.
As we are not buying anything at present, the house looks a bit bigger every week and it gets quicker and quicker to clear up. Now, if I go into a cluttered house, I feel real sympathy for the owners!
    Good luck with it all

Hi Tilly Just wanted to say I've been reading your diary for years. I really enjoy it more especially as I'm on extended sick leave. It really cheers me up.

When is it your hoping to move permantly to Portugal? I can't remember. I possibly a bit older than you at 55 but love your outlook and love of life. When I get through this chemo I'm on I can't wait to get started myself on things more permanent. I've hatched a plan to be mortgage free in 3 years when our fixed rate ends. That will leave us With the buy to let mortgage which I see as a pension shortfall each month. We currently save all the rent I only take out payments when work is needed.Finishing work early at 60 instead of 67 is so important to me. I must rekindle my diary and carry on.
Any way good luck with all your hopes and dreams I love joining along the way. Xx

Please rekindle your diary. It truly kept me focussed and I've made some great friends who have made the journey pretty joyful.

Chemo is such a bl@@dy thing to live through and I wish you strength as you follow the journey.

You probably deserve a gold star for reading. I'm not posting as much now but I promise our focus hasn't changed.

    Best wishes Tilly xxxxx

  • Evening, what an afternoon, tennis and Pimms, what more could you want - well maybe a win :rotfl:

House is so much better now. Decorating is going to wait until late summer or early autumn, but everything is at least in the right place.

Pizza oven in the garden and it works. Much practising on repertoire required before move to Portugal :T

    Happy days, Tilly xxx
