Holiday is drawing to a close. Fab weekend from Thursday night onwards. Sitting outside last night, warm but not hot evening. Candles lit, great music and celebrating a 65th birthday. Simple fare and delicious. Good walk late afternoon and just back from dinner. £25 for three, two courses each and wine.
We are really looking forward to our life here and we have taken a good look at the veg garden. We currently have the following trees/bushes:
2 avocado
2 almond
2 walnut
2 pomegranate
6 orange (3 types)
2 lemon
2 lime
2 fig
2 pepper
3 olive
2 Apple
10 grape vines (along perimeter fencing)
Plum tree has died sadly, along with the pear tree. Will have a couple of each put in this autumn.
All in all, we should be pretty self sufficient on the fruit front for a good chunk of the year. We are going to put a couple of mango trees in, but that's a gamble. They do grow here but not sure our site is ideal.
The jacaranda tree is in - 2-3 years time we should have a beautiful showing each spring.
Off to bed as I'm bushed.
