  • Congratulations Team Tilly - your mortgage clearance is an absolutely awesome achievement :T

I do hope Tilly that you do stay on MSE. I for one think that your future plans are so interesting, and I would love to hear all about your volunteering adventures (with an obvious nod to confidentiality etc), as I am sure that we need more of such work as society is seemingly increasingly fractured.

Thank you for sharing your life and your achievements so openly - and for the community of wonderful folk that you have gathered into your diary. It is always a fantastic read, and long may it continue :D

Really great meal out last night. DS had a Porterhouse steak - crikey they are huge.

Lovely time with mum and we went to a new cafe for lunch. Good to see her laughing with DD and DS. She's only little now and DS towers over her. She's not coming down this weekend but I'm collecting her middle September for a week. It would have been mum and dad's 70th wedding anniversary and they were fortunate to have clocked up over 65 years of marriage :T. They still held hands, and sang together most nights right until the end.

DS is off out to a party and Mr T, DD and I are walking the hounds in an hour or so. Now I'm feeling so much better I'll be volunteering again from next week. I'm writing menu plans and recipes to go into foods bags. Fresh and tinned food to cover seven days for families, couples and singletons. Half a day a week. The aim will be to create small groups of people to help each other out. There's a huge amount of loneliness and isolation and from all the chit chat which has taken place, building small communities is what people are seeking.

Church in the morning, another long dog walk then, even if I have to use a brolly, I'm doing some gardening.

Freezer and larder inventory tomorrow, then menu planning for September. I will pop out to buy the few bits we need after I'm done.

Thanks for all your lovely messages - I don't think it will really sink in until next month when I'm putting money into the Future pot :T
