Absolutely, thats a beautiful post, Tilly. I know the pensions thread you're talking about, but I haven't checked it in a while - I'll do that while I'm snacking in a moment
But I totally agree about the loss of loved ones and friends, and that having a bearing on issues.
For me, there's been an element of acceptance of reality - I've always hankered after a detached place, even a two-bedder, and I've realised I'm not going to get it (unless the million pound premium bond comes up!). And my health isn't great, so I'll be downsizing to an apartment - so accepting the reality of that is crucial. I'd rather have a pleasant life, in a nice apartment, than be poor and struggle to stay in a house in an area that was merely convenient, not an area I actually like.
Even though it's different from the options you have, I'm still grateful - I *do* have options, and plenty of them, whereas many people have none at all.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your last few days out there2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Morning, lovely day ahead. We are doing some annual tidying to the house. Mr T painted the outside of the house yesterday - looks bright and fresh. DS has restained table and today will do the chairs. All the clothes we keep here have been sorted and a few taken to the local recycling stop - also known as the rubbish bins. We often leave unwanted stuff neatly stacked and it's picked up and reused. An old TV went yesterday from a bedroom.
Lunch today is leftovers - we are off to a jazz night this evening.
Plans have changed for the weekend, party on Friday, then we are going to Gibralter on Saturday morning, coming home Sunday afternoon, in time for another party. Monday will see us having a long walk with the walking group in the early evening. We may sleep all Tuesday :rotfl:
