  • Hi CathT and Molly, sorting all the wrapping paper and gift stuff over the weekend, helped with mojo. Mr T and I sat reminiscing about wrapping the presents when the children were young. So many memories :)

    99p Tilly Tidied to MOS

I need to do a freezer inventory this weekend.

    Zumba tonight :)

Meeting a chum for coffee and must go to bank.

Dinner this evening is frittata (LO veg), salad and something - not sure what yet.

Study tidied ready for major clean up. With DD leaving home we've let things slide :(

Things are definitely improving on a couple of weeks ago. We seemed to be hit by a tidal wave of stuff, and no time to think.

I'd better make some breakfast and wake DS up.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

  • Mr T and I are starting to do research into buying another house. We will be buying one as an investment and DD will be living in it next year. It seems a bit scary  Research required through the winter months on tax, yield etc.

Work is completely mental and it's like a battle each day (thankfully I'm an observer) as people push for the 'big' jobs. Rather them than me :). It's quite interesting to see how the dynamics work from a spectator sport perspective - I am SO thankful that I don't need nor want to join in. There are decisions being made at the moment which are difficult morally and I actually cried with frustration yesterday. I don't think I'm cut out for this corporate world - I always see things from the doers standpoint rather than leadership. Probably a bit late to be thinking like this :rotfl:

Right, I really do have to crack on.

If you can do it, Tilly, it definitely seems the way to go, to buy a house share for offspring at uni. I hope the figures work for you.

Work sounds horrendous  that kind of stuff can be fascinating, but horrible when it affects RL :(

I've been waiting for the "house for DD whilst at uni" conversation for almost 2 months now. I hope you find something suitable & hopefully nice people for her to share with.
  • Hi Tilly

Sorry I missed your birthday but I've made you a cake anyway!

    :bdaycake:

So jealous of your organisation skills - Tilly Towers must look immaculate. Château Thistle on the other hand is a midden of medieval proportions! I'm having a massive furniture clear out - Mummy Thistle has claimed my coffee table which she's apparently been coveting since 2007 :rotfl: although she did say she's chuck some cash my way for it!
So the house is in disarray which, when you work from home is never good.

I was feeling very low last evening as my earnings from last night's group were not as high as I'd hoped because I missed the cut off point for the higher % rate by one!!!! Grrr!! This is not helping the debt busting cause!!

So infuriating, but today is a brand new day. Gotta keep smiling!:o

    Have a great day Tilly!

    Hi Tilly,

Long time lurker. I am sure you have already established this, but a lot of the big University towns have placed planning restrictions on changing a house into a "student home." Can't remember the actual legislation (article 4???) someone out there will know. This is to stop the "studentification" of residential neighbourhoods.

If this is the case, you have to get planning permission, or buy one already up and running. This may not apply to your DD's college.

    Good Luck!
