  • Hi Tilly,

Was feeling better until I got home and realised that the SIM card that UW have sent out for my new phone contract won't fit my iPhone 5. So now I have no mobile until they sort it out. Could this week get any worse?

Oh and tonight I though OH was coming to mine - he though I was going to his and had cooked dinner. Result = a night apart, a cold meal and a very hungry Thistle who is 35 miles away.

And all because I couldn't phone him because my phone has been switched over to a service I can't access because the sim is the wrong shape!!

    Honestly!!!!

    What a calamity of miscomprehensions!!!

Poor you, thistlewhistle (love that name!).

Also love the study bed and the to-do about the pricing. Adoring the £3.99 blow up thing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Evening Thistle, how are things going today?

Have you managed a Tilly Tidy anywhere, even if its just emptying your pockets into a jam jar? :)

I thought I'd walked into a farce when I was reading your post - reminiscent of Noises Off :)

Hope you've had a hot meal this evening and are now relaxing in your jarmies, or better still having an early night.

Looking forward to finishing work today. Chicken casserole is in the SC ready for dinner.

Will walk the hounds after work with Mr T. We're off for a long bike ride tomorrow and I'm hoping the rain stays off.

We've decided to get all the financials up to date tomorrow - it's frustrating us both at the moment and given how careful we've become, we don't want to slide.

Had a lovely chat with some friends last night and made arrangements for Christmas. Looking forward to it much more. Need to book the animals into kennels as we will be away. Have made arrangements for New Year's Eve as well - I intend funding this through keeping control of the food budget.

That's all for now. I'm heading to London today for meetings and hoping to be home early ish.

    Best wishes Tilly x

    Belated cake day Tilly :)

Catching up on the last few pages of your diary today made me smile. I had a chat with a work colleague less than an hour ago about their upcoming 40th, in which we discussed life priorities and whether or not the stress of kissing bottoms and 50 hour weeks were worth it to become senior managers. We were on the same page and agreed that real life was more important than a little extra money and a lot less extra time.

That said, your comment re. taking calls to ensure that the voice of your colleagues was heard also chimed with me. I think that the one thing that motivates me to want a more senior role is to ensure that those who *do* are not sidelined by those who *speak*.

    Morning all,

Thankfully Ut1l1ty w@rehouse are on the ball, have sent out my nano-sim and I'm back on the grid. I keep getting backed up texts from Wednesday which is a bit weird.
I know what you mean about the farce - at least if there'd have been a custard pie involved, I'd have had something to eat!!!:rotfl:

Life is more normal at the moment. About to travel to the Midlands for a weekend of Bellringing with good friends. And I have £115 in my budget to play with, all other debts having been serviced already this month. :T

Have a good day all, and if you're in Tamworth, listen out for the bells this afternoon.

Hi Mr E, what I notice at work is the amount of leaders who won't speak up and disagree. There's no way I'd do that. If things don't make sense I will always challenge, even if I know I'll be told to back down. Some you win, some you lose but at least I sleep at night, knowing I have done my utmost to do the right thing each day.

Will be thinking of you tonight when we eat our chicken, thanks for the inspiration :)

  • Hi Thistle, if I was near Tamworth, I'd be popping over for coffee :)

Glad to hear the SIM problem is sorted.

You have a glorious hobby :)

Afternoon, where's the Indian summer gone?

Dark sky, drizzly, damp - yuk. Mr T is currently fixing the side gate as the lock/hinge (everything actually) collapsed this week. Given we have two large hounds, we were worrying that they may open the gate and take themselves off for a walk :rotfl:

What has been achieved thus far - 3/4 of the washing is done, airing cupboard is emptied, all the washing dry enough for ironing is done but not put away. DS has vacuumed upstairs.

Freezer inventory, menu plan, shopping list, shopping, financials, gym with PT, lawn cutting, pruning, rest of washing/ironing - all still to do.

Garden may have to wait until tomorrow

No idea what Mr T or DS fancies for dinner this evening - I'd quite like sausages, jacket potatoes and salad but doesn't seem particularly exciting for a weekend.

Need to hop n the shower, get dressed then whizz to the bank to pay in some more coins purloined from Mr Ts work bag.

    Best wishes, Tilly x
