It was an interesting exercise to sort out Mr Ts expenses. Plus I read a mail from S123 which indicates he may be paid 1% for some of his hotel stays as well. We had originally thought it would be for all stays but chains are limited to some of the larger ones. However the £co and free night after 10 nights, plus hotel points are worth more to us. It's a bit complicated to work out what's the best for us.
Just be aware that the taxman is trying to work out how to get money from business travellers who get incentives like hotel points. But at the moment they don't so enjoy.

Thanks for this Peonie, I'll look out for news - wouldn't it be great if more energy were put into getting the major corporations to pay a fair amount of tax instead
These comments were made just before the series aired. It's where him and Jack Monroe fell out, but clearly, they've patched up their differences.........

I've not seen the new episode, DP taped it for me. I was too busy *saving*, making yoghurt with YS'd milk....... :rotfl:

    Greying
I must admit I was mulling over this last night after I posted, and I wondered whether it was to do with the two of them.

I watched a couple of YT clips last night and he is giving sound advice in my opinion. Although if you read the Old Style forum you'd get way more help I think.

Home economics really does need to get back on the curriculum. I know I had to cost out daily menus, look at calorie/vits etc and it really did help me when I first left home.

    Best wishes Tilly x

    Tesc@ CC £11.50
    Nectaar £9.50
    B@@ts - need to check

Orzo rice last night - yuk - apologies to anyone who loves it but I'd definitely rather have bulger wheat, cous cous, rice. Dogs enjoyed the orzo, although I did have to g@@gle whether they could eat pasta - yes but only a little. GR sticky chicken was delicious and from the Healthy Appetite book (thanks library)

I'm off work today and going to clear the study and clean/sort then file/burn - Pilates with DD and Zumba tonight :T

Last night I had the best night's sleep for weeks and only woke at 8am - although it's hard to get cracking having slept so solidly. Dogs are fed and I'll walk one of them to the post office later on.

Have a good day, Tilly x

  • What a morning, one load of washing finished and on the airer in the garage - I refuse to use the TD in June

Study tackled, papers sorted and filed, others ready for burning. Polished and just need to vacuum.

I have some receipts to add to the spending diary - doing my utmost to follow Mr Ts advice of do as soon as we spend - not quite working as these are from the weekend :o

7 things ready for posting - not RM survey stuff, this is just our own post. Completely caught up on tasks in the study which really has cleared my mind.

I'm testing a new room spray from Fabreeeeeeze via SuperSavvy at the moment, as is DD and we both think this may be why we slept so well - DD hasn't been sleeping as well recently with all the revision going on. I felt very sceptical it's interesting that we have both had a good night.

Anyway, off to Pilates now - thanks HDK for the motivation :T

  • Hi Brizzle, definitely feeling more like my old self but struggling with motivation to get things done, hence the lists :)

    Loving ticking things off.

RM survey pack arrived for next week and all items packed, sticky stuck on to each, with instructions to remove before posting and items received updated on site. Another roll of Sellotape stuff received - thank you RM

I may just be thinking of going away for a few days :). Passport, money, house keys ready but haven't actually booked the flight yet - does this mean I'm not sure whether to go or not? Would mean rearranging two PT sessions and DD would have to go out with Mr T on Friday night as I've booked tickets for an event.

Just had a catch up Tilly, glad the PT is going well!

Sun shining today? I've given up with trying to get the washing dry here and have bought it all in ... it's just like April showers today! Hope you got some sunshine! x

  • Evening, early dinner as DD and I are off to Zumba having done Pilates earlier. Feeling slightly scared but the class looks fun from what I've seen on the site.

Dinner was delicious - potato salad using pots from Sunday dinner, with chopped chives and a dressing made with equal parts of mayo and natural yoggy (1.5 tbs each), a dessert spoon of tahini, and S&P. HM guacamole with a little fresh ginger/garlic, squeeze of fresh lime, oil then a sprinkling of dried chilli. Green salad, topped with HM croutons and all served with a slice of ham. Mmmmmmm

Am booking flights and going on Sunday for a few days. Looking forward to a few days of peace and quiet, good food, wine and company.

    Best wishes, Tilly x

The weather is definitely mad - doesn't know whether to rain or shine. My washing is drying in the garage on the airer - who stole summer :(
