    Hi Tilly and friends

So so much to catch up on..:D had to go back around 10 pages and only been AWOL for about 8 days! Great to hear the health ( and wealth) steps again Tilly..you guys are truly an inspiration. I have wondered about the PT route for me..but at the moment any spare cash will go towards massages instead. Also have a spa day lined up :) so a much gentler approach :rotfl:

    Any news on the email?

    Take care

  • All of Mr Ts work money stuff is sorted out :T

Extra money coming back into offset savings

CC is working ok. If he books hotels through £co he doesn't get cash back on S123 so he's using the other cash back card for those and S123 for all rail and fuel. That will work well and I won't use that card at all.

Crikey it was complicated to sort out but it's done now, just need to keep an eye on the cash back.

Dinner was delicious and the ginger gave a lovely warm/hot flavour to the beef dish. No noodles though so had rice.

Tomorrow DD and I are having baked sticky chicken from GR Healthy Appetite (I think that's what it's called) and will serve with salad and the rice shaped pasta, the name of which completely escapes me.

    I'd better crack on

Tilly - Jaymee O has got a new series of 'Saving' on Ch4 tonight - 8.30pm. I've only just noticed it. Must have missed all the publicity for it, unless he's decided to do none, after the last time.....

Just took a bit of thought to make sure we get the best bang for the buck :):). Years ago we wouldn't have given it a second thought. Now we've worked out that with cash back from TCB, £co, credit cards x 2, we will at some point have made about the food shopping bill for two months. Unfortunately it comes in, in dribs and drabs, so Mr T was wondering how we can make sure we don't waste it. OP was my answer - I think he wants to do something specific with it, so more chat required.

Thanks Greying, I was rushing out when I posted and couldn't remember for the life of me.

I hadn't realised he had a new programme - will have to check it out. What happened with his last programme re publicity?

I must admit I do like a good chunk of the recipes in the book - still managing to borrow the book as we have a few libraries all with stock, and I return and borrow from elsewhere. I like to write notes in my books though so will probably buy it when I see a good offer.

It's very much like Economy Gastronomy - that definitely changed how I cook.

Evening, email will be forthcoming but slow. Things are moving apace, will just be glad when I can post the plans in the knowledge that it's all sorted :)

Spa would be much gentler than a PT but my love of weights is coming back. I'm pretty motivated but lost my way re weight. I don't have tons to lose but certainly a couple of stones would be a welcome reduction along with toning.

I really don't feel like an inspiration at all. We all have such diverse challenges in our lives just the fact so many of us have found this site is marvellous. There are such generous and giving people on both the MFW and DFW forums. It's a real joy to talk with people who understand what we are all looking to do.

Right, I definitely need a cup of tea.

Night all and thanks for posting :)

  • Morning £6 PC claimed from PP and OPd :T

31p Tilly Tidy to mortgage :T

All main bills have gone out via DD and we are in the lull before pay days start. Just under three weeks for me.

Lunch will be the rest of the beef in a salad sandwich.

It was an interesting exercise to sort out Mr Ts expenses. Plus I read a mail from S123 which indicates he may be paid 1% for some of his hotel stays as well. We had originally thought it would be for all stays but chains are limited to some of the larger ones. However the £co and free night after 10 nights, plus hotel points are worth more to us. It's a bit complicated to work out what's the best for us.

I'm off to walk the hounds now before Mr T leaves. He's away for a couple of nights and DD and I are looking forward to some time on our own :)

Have a good day and hopefully the sun will be shining.

  • All the best for the PT Tilly and Mr T. I was going to sign up for PT for weight loss a couple of years ago, but the chap was a dunderhead who tried to re-arrange sessions at the last minute for times that I couldn't possibly manage. I suspect that hiring a PT is very hit and miss. Ah well, his loss ;)

Dinner sounds delicious. I'm a big fan of pak choi, one of the few vegetables that provides an available source of calcium!
We've got a young guy, probably early 20s but he seems very organised. We've booked all the sessions and they are early starts which works well for us.

I would have thought with all your running that you are all sorted on the weight front. I can't believe how much weight can be lost through running. A friend who runs regularly was talking to me the other day - almost a day's calorific intake negated by a 7 or so mile run. I'm guessing that's a run not a slow jog though

The pak choi was delicious. I haven't used it for a while and will definitely add it to the menu more. Crunchy and a good flavour. Extra calcium is good for me and will definitely bear that in mind. I must admit I had no idea but it did make me wonder whether I should do some research on vits in veg and use that when menu planning.

Hope the job hunting is going well. Keep on applying for roles though. It's a numbers game and it will keep you motivated if you know you have a few things on the go at all times. Don't give up if you don't hear or are unsuccessful, just keep on applying.

    Best wishes Tilly x x x

These comments were made just before the series aired. It's where him and Jack Monroe fell out, but clearly, they've patched up their differences.........

I've not seen the new episode, DP taped it for me. I was too busy *saving*, making yoghurt with YS'd milk....... :rotfl:
