It really concerns me that prices go up so rapidly. I remember reading a book about the 10 year cycle of property prices boom/bust, cant recall the name and its not so bad when you are on the ladder - if you are fortunate to buy at the right time, but how on earth the kids of today will manage, I have no idea.
Morning Tilly
It's the same here at the moment. My Mum is looking to downsize and there is very little on the market. I've heard a couple of people say that they are waiting to see if prices go up before putting it on, which is very frustrating if you want to move now! We were extremely lucky to get our house when we did. We couldn't get anything for £110,000 now, although it was technically uninhabitable and had lots of structural problems!
I hope you enjoy some sunshine today

Property in our area is booming at an incredible rate. Houses that were taking months to sell are now selling prior to marketing. It's crazy. Like you say Tilly it helps no one really. I really feel for first time buyers. xMortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017

Over on the Debate House Prices forum (which is my usual home on MSE) we are forever getting posts by people asserting that all home owners always want their houses go to up in price, and expressing disbelief whenever anybody tries to say that not everyone thinks that way. And yet both here and IRL I meet plenty of people who have a much broader and more balanced view of the situation.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

It is certainly a mad old world and I just hope kids find a way to navigate a path - maybe we will become more like Germany where more people rent.

Morning, PC is a survey company which pay £3 per survey, have product trials and some one off trials. I'd definitely recommend them and they pay via P@yPal but promptly, no waiting until you hit £10/£40/£50 etc.Welshlassie wrote: »Hey, long time lurker on your thread. Good morning,
Mr T will be home this evening and we will be walking the dogs together.
Money matters - I've been given a one off reward for performance, total surprise, so will be moving that to MOS.
