  • Afternoon, what a beautiful day. Washing dried on the line and I'm about to iron and put away now.

Pigs cheek casserole and ox cheek casserole cooked and cooling. One is for this week, the other for the freezer. The meat has come out of the freezer and so no spend on meat this week

Mr T and I have been planning some fairly big changes to the garden. Really looking forward to that. The raised beds have been re-weeded again and some lettuce seeds planted.

A little tidying up in the garden with the sun shining and life really feels so much better.

We still haven't spent redundancy money, although we have a few car service things happening soon, so may need to dip in - not sure yet.

The house is looking fresh and aired - the windows have been open all day.

I am planning some planting for the front garden and need to find some cash to fund it.

Airing cupboard needs to be emptied and everything put away. Mr T is walking the dogs with DS and I'm collecting DD later.

Only thing not achieved today is changing our bedding but that can wait until tomorrow.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the weather and has seen some blue sky.

    Best wishes Tilly

The weather has been absolutely glorious here today, I got so much done in the garden. All those horrible jobs actually that I don't enjoy but I'm so happy when they're done: Clearing out the shed and cleaning it down, clearing out the greenhouse and giving it a good wash-down, and washing all the seed trays and propagators. I ache all over now but hooray, those jobs are done for another year. :j

Tomorrow, I plan to get a LOT of washing on the line, as well as lots more work in the garden.

I'm going to wash a couple of winter fleeces - do walking ones - and get them on the line today.

I could do with giving one shed a sort out - may have a go.

This week is suppoosed to be fantastic for warmer, sunnier weather. A welcome relief after all the rain we've had.

Can't wait to get the bedding washed and dried on the line. There's nothing like it is there? So much fresher than tumbles and maidens.

    Have a good Sunday everyone.

  • We were seeing mum today, however, DS came down with a bug last night - not pleasant - so we've had to change weekends.

It does give us an unexpected day at home and Peace&Freedom's comments about sheds has inspired me to clear out the bike one. The gardening one was done not so long ago - can't recall when.

We will be taking the hounds for a 5 mile walk and DS can stay in bed :o

Money news - payday is two weeks and things are looking OK. I'd love to be able to OP the amounts I was doing before, but at some point I will be. It's certainly challenging when your circumstances take such a major turn.

Have a good day and I hope the sun spreads around the country.

we've not seen any sun up here in the frozen north of scotland yet, Tilly, so jealous that you have been able to plant out lettace already. i have some growing on the windowsill.

But we did go for a walk along the beach last night at 6.30 and it was almost still light, so spring must be nearly here :j

    hope DS gets better soon

  • Hello,

Well done on doing your bike shed. There is ivy growing inside mine and the bikes have flat tyres. But that will have to be a job for next week now.

Good luck with all your ploys,

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Morning, Sunday was a glorious day.

Didn't manage the walk as we literally didn't stop all day - lunch in the garden and per dinner 'nibbles' - sounds a little more refined tht it was. I had some smoked salmon off cuts to use so made tiny open sandwich things.

Bike shed completed, all the beds weeded, topped up with compost where needed. All patio areas weeded, furniture moved around, fences changed over. Looks likes new garden. Now we just need to save up for plans and pots.

DS is feeling much better and managed to have dinner with us. We were working for around 8 hours and all plus were tired and slept well.

Back to work/school today and Mr T is washing the bedding.

Loads of washing done and dried on the line - no ironing at all.

Spare bedroom turned into a study for kids.

    Best wishes Tilly x
