  • Managed a trip to B@@ts and bought 4 gifts, 2 for DS, 1 for me from Mr T for Mothering Sunday and 1 for a friend of DD, which DD will pay for :). Very pleased with those and it only came to £21 all together.

Mr T bought two loaves of bread and bananas from Mr M and I picked up two cookery mags from the library and a book on how to be organised. Made Mr T laugh as he thinks I don't need one - we can all learn new tricks :T

I've received the food swap vouchers so will check which shop the items are on offer in - if they are - and buy a couple of bits. However very little shopping for next week apart from for a cookery course I'm going to on Saturday. Looks like I'm buying half the supermarket but food sounds fab :T. We will be having a feast on Saturday evening and Mr T is coming on the course with me - due to my lovely chum being a nutter and double booking :)

Mr T and DS made a lovely special fried rice dish for dinner with a sweet and sour veg dish on the side :)

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • I like the positive attitude - that if you want to be energised, you will be! I am sure 2014 will be a great year.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

OOOh - I've done that rice pudding recipe - and can agree that it is 'gurt lush' ;) Am still not convinced by TK recipes, though - though may wander around a few of them online and try :)

I know you're not one to rest easily, Tilly, but sometimes we have to xx

Sorry to hear about your family's loss - hope your mum is ok in her own home, too xx

Thanks Greent :). I find it difficult to do nothing, however I've had to come back to bed as in a lot of pain at the moment. So frustrating.

I think TKs recipes are inconsistent. I've made a couple I was delighted with, and so has GG but they are more off than on. I think I'm a reasonable cook and I've struggled

Mum is coping but missing being here. After the funeral she will be back again :)

  • Morning, woken up with energy :T

Off to make a shopping list and get to L!dl with a quick trip to W@itrose as well.

No real updates but spend is tightly controlled - does mean little to Tilly Tidy but not to worry.

Following Greying's approach, a few good things to help the journey:

:) Help from a close friend yesterday - I asked for help and they made themselves available immediately - very grateful Mrs T

:) Mr T is in a very positive place with job hunting - no offer but lots of activity

:) friends - those that know you well enough to see inside

    Right, I'd better get cracking.

Have a good Friday - nearly February

 Is he some new rap star? Does Mr T know .
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Dinner this evening is mystery meat - I used the wrong type of label and it fell off  with steamed veg.

Not sure how this could happen but I think it's rare beef and Mr T thinks it's gammon so time will tell :rotfl:

Good offers in the shops so we spent £36 but beautiful half price joint of beef as well as fruit veg, free milk (thank you W@itrose paper), plus other bits. Stuff required for a course I'm going on tomorrow came to around £38.

Mr T has quite a few people contacting him about roles but no news to report as yet. However, still confident we can catch up - unless it takes all of 2014 in which case catch up not possible :)

Moroccan feast for dinner tomorrow evening and very much looking forward to it. Pork in gravy taken out of freezer for dinner on Sunday.

CP survey for Mr T, RM activities to do - all going well on that front.

SP owe us money after switching and called tonight to see what they could do to retain us - discounts etc. Mr T suggested they should simply reduce their cost period and they wouldn't lose customers. Awaiting around £130 back from them :T

Funds from PP transferred to FD and come payday, I'll have around £800 to move to MOS pot :). Plus my bonus gets paid and I only have £2k to find to be neutral. Well not exactly as it requires endowment to pay out but it does feel that the pressure is off more.

Mr T definitely needs new clothes - we meant to go a few weeks ago but health issues prevented us. Hopefully we can get to the shops next week in the evening.

Have a lovely weekend and hope the rain disappears.
