Duck confit last night - well it was ok but not fab. That's the second TK recipe which has been questionable. If anyone else has made it, let me know how it went. However there was a lot of duck, so I'm making duck pancakes for starters this evening. Five root soup will be for lunch tomorrow and the TK belly pork is for dinner. It's now out of the brine and drying.
Oh dear Mr TK, you're at the last chance saloon .

Tilly, you have put the pork somewhere safe haven't you where the hounds can't get it :rotfl:. I still remember the fish pie incident ;)

Lovely to see you posting lots, Tilly - hope the Tilly household are all well/ on the mend as applicable!

I've heard from 'real life' friends as well as on here that TK recipes don't seem to turn out quite as intended - disappointing :( I was eyeing up his book - but am now waiting for more trials of his recipes before I do so!!

Oh yes, that was a funny one :rotfl: blinking hounds cost a fortune

Fortunately pork is in the garage and its one of our cats I have to be careful of - she likes to creep in and hide from the hounds, then hunt all the food down.

Yep, I may have to send Mr TK a letter - well I am that age now :T

I love the way his food comes out on TV; friends have been to his pub for dinner and food as fab but I struggle replicating his dishes and that's disappointing. Some have worked brilliantly but they don't seem consistent. The pork I'm doing is a repeat of one I tried before but taking his advice on another cookery programme I saw him on, where he said he always leaves his pork to 'dry out overnight'. Well see tomorrow :o

I can safely say they are the best carrots you could ever taste, although there's enough butter to clog the arteries at one sitting - magnificent though :T
