Hi Tilly
OH in shower so I catching up before he appears all clean.
Really enjoying Rome. Thanks for all your advice - came in handy.
Sorry to hear you're in a bit of pain. Saps your bon humeur a bit doesn't it.
I'll say a prayer for you in St. Francis's basilica later - no pain, a nice lodger and more opportunities to TT!!!:rotfl:

Sorry the lodger wasn't 'the one' tilly....maybe he was the one before 'the one' though;)
Regarding the keeping up with the Jones' theme, my next door neighbour is an absolute textbook case - always bragging about work that will be getting done to their house, new cars, holidays etc. she is harmless though, and I feel a bit sorry that she feels the need to show off (although I am secretly envious of having a new kitchen fitted:rotfl:)
Have a great Sunday and apologies to Mr Tills for the virtual cake - I'm on an economy drive:)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

There are so many people like that, the stuff they buy is almost for everyone else's benefit rather than for the enjoyment of it. My inlaws have just spent thousands on a new storage unit for the living room, every time we speak its all mil talks about, why have not not been to visit to look at it yet ?! :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Hello,
I do agree with all the jones's stuff. I know someone with a gorgeous sitting room full of Laura Ashley stuff and they never go in it. But it is at the front of the house so everybody can see in.......
I like my battered stuff and don't have to be holding my breath when my grandchildren visit! Luckily oh doesn't care either. I have been doing the no new clothes in 2013 challenge, and he hasn't even noticed that he is doing it too!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
I'd definitely agree that having your weekends is important Tilly. I was off on Friday and the lady friend and the houseguest came in at 4pm and have been here all weekend. When I was trying to get an early night and they, erm, weren't  it definitely made me long for an empty house :rotfl:
Not too much longer tho but definitely not being replaced with another Katsu houseguest.
I felt quite bad about spending as much on the car as I did - most expensive car we've ever had. However, mine was definitely packing up so it needed replacing and I need a reliable commuter vehicle. Could I have got a cheaper car, yes, definitely. However, I actually enjoy driving this one and owning a hybrid has advantages for tax, fuel economy etc so it sort of saves us money IYSWIM.
PS - belated happy birthday to Mr T - did you get him a nice gold coloured chain? :rotfl:Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Hi Tilly
Just caught up.
Hope your pains are now easing and you will be out with the hounds again before long.

Hi Tilly, sorry to hear you've hurt yourself and hope you've started to turn a corner now. I know you like to be out with the hounds but the weather is still pretty chilly so let Miss T do it for now and rest up while we wait for the nice weather
I'm impressed at Miss T doing two separate runs with the dogs, she must be a fit young lady (I wish lol)
Just using my sis's Ipad, have used it loads before but never to type/post, takes a bit of getting used to doesn't it but think I'm getting the knack now and having an Iph0ne of my own means I know how to navigate!
Having a rare Sunday as got a couple of hours on my own. Sun streaming in window and catching up on a bit of TV and mooching on here. I know I should probably be out in said sun but can't seem to work up the oomph today so I think a bit of slobbing about is in order

Tilly, hope you are feeling better, having seen your quidco droppings I had to investigate, and as always walk to town at the weekend thought I'd make use of your grand idea........now v v grumpy as it kept saying I wasn't in the right place, have you had that snag? Oh well, wish my doggie would go running, he can only run in circles and only when there are other dogs to show off to..typical male.0

Afternoon, quick weather update, sky is a weird grey colour - where did the blue from yesterday go
. However, at least it is warmer and the sun must be shining somewhere as it's a bright day.
Saw a free film this morning plus have tickets for DS and chum to see a free movie on Thursday - loving the free entertainment :T
Lovely to 'see' so many people today and yesterday, I feel like I should have baked a cake and we could have had an afternoon tea
It is a bit frustrating not walking as I love being out with the dogs, but needs must and as GG keeps reminding me, it must be by age :rotfl:
ATT, put your feet up and enjoy the peace - it's lovely having a real day of rest. It won't be long and it will Sunday afternoons in the garden - can't wait.
Ocemeer, we have found £co inconsistent in terms of check ins, but they do have a lot on at the moment, so worth persevering. Sometimes shop A won't work, but shop B is fine. Plus check the values as sometimes there are 20p ones as well as the usual 10p and 5p. As you have to wait a while before the next check in, we grab the larger ones wherever possible. DS asked yesterday why we do it and I explained that if you saw 10p or 20p on the floor whilst out and about, you would pick it up - this is just a different way of finding cash. It gave him something to think about.
Hi Katsu, you certainly have a challenging time with your houseguest and you have a the patience of a saint :A. He's a lucky guy and hopefully he appreciates all you are both doing for him.
SSS, I know exactly what you mean about furniture. My cats, hounds, kids have caused havoc with our sofas, but I truly don't mind. There are scratches and scuffs on the sofa in the sitting room and I think it makes them look all the better. There have been cuddles, tears, play fights with the kids, memories of my father playing hospitals with our two when they were small - what memories all from furniture
Hi NewGirly, I am getting so much pleasure out of our orderly and redecorated study - it's comical. The kids are taking the mickey out of me as I have to keep popping in to look at it :rotfl:
Natty, Mr T says he'll make his own cake - I'll pop the kettle on and you can pop over (well virtually). We have another neighbour who moans constantly about how much they work - makes me laugh as he is in an industry where the pensions are HUGE. However, with a new wife in tow, it requires new cars every year or so- madness but then each to their own. We drive some people mad by not living the life we lived previously - no thank you, I prefer this one.
Hi Thistle, I really hope you did say a prayer for me as that would be awesome (get me and the lingo :rotfl:). I really would love to go again and next time, it can be just me and Mr T :T
Afternoon Poppy, how wonderful to have such a stately home on your doorstep. I can absolutely see why annual membership makes sense. We have a beautiful park near us and one bench is 'ours'. We sit and watch the world go round, the children used to play with their stuff when we sat and I've sad there in tears on occasions, as has Mr T. Every time I walk past I recall different things, they are fleeting but again, just a bench in a park can conjure up so many memories.
Have a fab Sunday afternoon
I'm off to put the kettle on.

Brisket of beef with mash and veg for dinner.
No spending planned until next Friday :T
DD has gone away on a trip for a few days so it will be a little quiet - I'm just waiting for Mr T to return home from dropping her off.
I'm going to make a cuppa and finish sorting my wardrobe.
Plus I sold something on eb@y so after fees that's another £7 to OP. I'll pack it up ready to be posted tomorrow.
Definitely need another FLW soon and hoping to do a car boot over the next BH. Emptying the garage and getting it back to being my shop, will be a delight.
Kettle's boiled - anyone for tea?
