    Hi Tills,
I think it's due to get warmer this weekend. I've switched my CH off and I'm coping but it's still freezing. Deborah,my hit water bottle, will NOT be given up yet though!!

Good luck with jobs today - I've got she's loads to do also.

  • Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rubbish Tilly.

Our heating costs are extortionate for this year - like you, I try to have the heating off altogether by 1 April - and if it's not off, then it is only on for a couple of hours in the evening. But it is SO cold still, that it is on most of the day at the moment. Today, I am working from home and so is OH, and lodger is in as she is not feeling well, so I have turned it back on for the day - my view is that I will be more productive if I am warm. I can't type with cold hands!

Hope the right lodger comes along for you soon - frustrating when these things don't work out as quickly as you would like.

  • Hi Thistle, you'll be needing Deborah for a longtime to come - it is absolutely pouring down here

Morning CA, I definitely do feeling of sorts. I think it's a combination of weather, mobility and lack of new ways in increase disposable income. Plus I genuinely find the house so empty at the moment.

Fortunately DD returned yesterday and it was fab to hear her news.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Morning, I feel like a drum roll is required

    4p TT OP this morning
    £1.10 £co OP

You can see at this rate, the mortgage will be gone in 2050 :o

Since moving our mortgage to FD we are saving just under £10k per year - unbelievable amount of money. Great to know that this is an automatic OP by doing nothing.

About 30 minutes of ironing to do and definitely this evening as I have a busy Saturday :o

I need some of these  to find other ways to make money as having done all the big things and now they are ingrained, we need to up the stakes.

It's never taken this long to find a lodger so if that was sorted it may improve how I/we feel. Thankfully our MF date does not rely on lodgers but it is an extra help plus we have a house full, which as you know, I prefer ;)

Mr T is off with the kids to sort out phones today - big discussion about types last night but it looks like monthly rates will actually be lower which is good news. Will report back on success or not tonight.

    Friday :T

    Have a fab day

Hi Tilly how long did the process to switch to FD take? I sent in all my documentation, wage slips etc 10 days ago and have heard nothing since.
    Start Date 16/09/2015
Original amount outstanding = 225,000 Current amount outstanding =199,812
    Original LTV = 64% Current LTV = 49%
Original Pay Off Date = Sep' 36 New Pay Off date = Sep' 36
    Original Dly Int = 17.17 New Dly Int = 17.17 Total OP = £1319.31
  • Morning QB, from memory it took about 4-6 weeks all in all. I would give them a quick call and check the progress.

I really appreciate the FD customer service. My only gripe is that you can't change the saving pot names, which means needing to remember which account covers which saving - ie Car Maintenance etc. I keep feeding this back in as a suggestion in the hope that eventually they will change.

  • We looked into FD but decided to stick with Virgin One and get the bloody thing paid off instead. They seemed very customer oriented from our dealings with them.
