Morning, this OPing is slow going - no pennies to OP at all  So the TTs are not a great success in the Tilly household. However I have emptied the various piggies so can pay in just under £30 :T. Will move that to mortgage once it's visible.
Birthday weekend so special meal for Mr T this evening - I was cooking rib eye steak but waiting to hear the final decision.
Lodger viewing today and another person I am chatting to may be visiting next week. Even DD is missing having a lodger now
I have an injury at the moment so not been posting as much due to blinking pain making me extremely grumpy - this doesn't sit well with me as I'm normally a happy, motivated person. Pain is not good for the sense of humour. Anyway, it is starting to ease a little but this has stopped me walking the hounds which also isn't good as I love being outside. On a brighter note, it is going to be a warmer day and I'm going to do some weeding and preparing in the raised beds, plus am planting seeds to keep inside.
I've got a maximum budget of £30 for the shopping this week, given the volume of food in the freezer. Fruit is high on the list. We will make bread tomorrow for the week - am hoping I can cram a bit into the freezer as we have been eating out of the Tilly chilled cabinet all week. I have some gammon stock left from Monday, so am making soup today. Stock looks ok
It's fab to see the flood of new diaries on here :T:T. A bit less profit for the banks each month
Enjoy Saturday and hope the weather is kind to us all - I heard the news early this morning and temperatures of -5 to -7 overnight in some areas - it's April for goodness sake.
Best wishes Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Love reading your diary!!
Totally agree about giving the banks less of our money!
I am hoping this signals a changing generation and a stop to thinking that debt is ok, a stop to thinking debt is normal and a stop to thinking that we need to keep up with the jones' even if that means spending more than we earn.
I still do feel that more needs to be done on clamping down on companies offering payday loans, compensation claims, 0% finance on everything from a fridge to a sofa to a laptop to a kitchen. But thats another story lol.
Well done on getting £30 of change together - every little OP helps!
Hope you are feeling better soon - lots of rest this weekend! x
Stacey x2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0 -

Morning Kirsty, I'm planting more chilli's, basil and tomatoes, plus starting off some salad leaves. I have never been this behind with plants.
Hi Stacey, I read a book recommended by GG - something like the Millionaire Next Door - (GG if you're reading can you confirm the name pls thx x x x) - it was really enlightening about what is really at the bottoms of so many purchase which is ego. The need to demonstrate success at all costs to other people - fascinating.
I have a girl friend who won't drive in my car as it's not good enough - makes me laugh as we have two houses both of which are pretty cool, but we don't drive brand new cars :rotfl: It is our choice to spend our money how we like. Mr T did toy with buying a car recently but logic paid off in the end. When the current car dies, we will have saved enough cash to buy another, about 4 years old which will be more than enough.
Morning GG, just realised I have some chicken stock as well so am making butternut squash soup with that as well - mmmmmmm. May need Mr T to make bread today to go with the soup, that'll smell nice when the prospective lodger turns up :T. DD said it was my age too, I may have to banish her to her bedroom
Changing the subject, the sky is looking glorious at the moment

I'm with you on the car Tilly - I like having a lovely house, but I see cars as a complete waste of money. My brother in law buys a brand new BMW every couple of years - I cannot imagine how much money he has spent on new cars over the year, only for them to lose much of their value instantly.
We got rid of our second car last year, when OH started working from home full-time, as we really didn't need two vehicles. It has made a lot of difference in terms of saving of insurance, MOT costs etc. Very occasionally, we find we do need to be in two different places at once, but usually it works itself out!November 2007 £570k 25 years - MF March 2033
