  • Morning, can you tell Mr GG that I am following a multi faceted approach to clearing the mortgage :rotfl: Big OPs, medium OPs and small OPs :j

Alternatively chuck it all at the mortgage.

I am persuading Mr T it must be tea making time and he said 'must be Xmas still in their house, only two cups from one bag!'

Need to install internal washing line to dry them out for extra use ;).

I feel a bit stupid asking, but what is an account tidy up?
    Start Date 16/09/2015
Original amount outstanding = 225,000 Current amount outstanding =199,812
    Original LTV = 64% Current LTV = 49%
Original Pay Off Date = Sep' 36 New Pay Off date = Sep' 36
    Original Dly Int = 17.17 New Dly Int = 17.17 Total OP = £1319.31
  • Hi QB, I do as many different things to reduce the mortgage as possible, to keep motivation and to see the numbers drop - it's a long old journey. So to help, if our bank accounts have pennies showing in the balance, I OP them. Could 1p, 3p or double digits but it all goes straight to the mortgage.

Probably sounds quite mad but it's just another strand of activity to reduce paying interest to the bank and help us to own more of our home :T

As mortgage and accounts are on line it's a quick check each morning and I switch them over.

    Best wishes Tilly

Hi Tilly. Sorry I haven't been about for ages.
I'm trying to use up a bread glut too- so far I can only think bread pudding.

  • Morning Jellie, how about fish cakes for the freezer with a crumb outer?

Chocolate bread and butter pudding is a favourite - it's a Delia recipe

    Good luck Tilly x

  • Morning, thank goodness I listed the jobs I needed to do, as I keep forgetting them :)

I am off to the kitchen to wrestle with the bank statements, credit card receipts etc.

Huge lie in so need to get moving now :rotfl:

Bacon is on the list to use up today. Turkey soup made yesterday and I'll take the bones out and freeze. I only had a crown and used the Nigella brining recipe - fab.

Have a good day everyone. Our whole family have stepped up to the no grocery spend until last Saturday in January, apart from fruit-milk - could be some interesting meals as we get to the end of the month.

No pennies to tidy away :(

No pennies either for me this morning. I might complain to the DVLA that car tax should be odd money not even. I'll just have to wait till the 11th when the credit card get paid
