  • I'll need a bit of luck to buy fruit and milk for a £5 but I'm going to do my best :)

    Tilly x

I read this message before the original and thought that this was Tilly's budget for a month not a week  I don't doubt for a minute that SuperTilly would still come in under budget if it was for a month:rotfl:
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)
  • Afternoon Muddywhitchicken, if only :j

It's been interesting though as I definitely haven't gone mad on food over Christmas but I am sick of food at the moment.

Hi Tilly - belated festive wishes to you :) as I've not been around much over the holiday period
Any favourite recipes for using up limes - needs to be frozen?

    Thanks Tilly x

Not really a recipe but what I do with spare limes is cut them up into segments or slices and freeze. That way they can go into drinks as sudo ice cubes straight from the freezer:T

Try THIS - I did it last summer - nom nom :D.

Although Bookworm's suggestion would be good with gin :).

Hi Tilly- I just updated the 100K club list and your progress in a year is astounding. I must reread your diary to pick up some tips as we are at £272 at the moment and would love to pay off in 10 years but that will be really tough!

  • Thanks Jellie, it shows how wasteful we used to be :(

It will certainly make a difference in December 2015 when it's GONE :):):)

GG, I guess I could make some of the chicken rub up and freeze - thanks for the recipe.

Hi Bookworm, will definitely freeze some slices - G&T with fresh lime sounds like a plan x x

  • Well I am catching up on the menu plan. Surrounded by books, glass of port by my side, fire on and lap top at the ready.

The freezer is full to bursting - if Dawn was still posting I'd describe it like hers - rubber sides :rotfl:

I'm quite looking forward to clearing the stocks. Will mean a top up AF shop in February but better to keep the stock turning over :)

The feelings of fresh starts are lovely at this time of the year and even Mr T has been whizzing round getting things done. We have an old lap top which he has meant to wipe for over a year  it's now done :):)

    Need to get planning now.

Dinner out with friends has been rearranged as the horrible bug has hit them. There really are some dreadful bugs around at the moment.

  • Just going off task a little - but we love Costco - we do a monthly shop there (we have the exec card, 2% back on all orders) and we get a serious amount of basics (beans etc) from them, meat, soup, cheese etc. It's not cheap but super quality, and has made a big saving than getting them from supermarkets, although you do need to get a load of space to save the 48 tins of beans you buy as a spontaneous purchase!
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037
