Great progress tilly as always!
littering annoys me too - its just laziness really!!
You have inspired me to do a freezer inventory and figure out what I need to cook/get rid of before next week! got some barginous bargains late in MrT's yesterday so freezer shuffle made it possible to fit everythign in-now just need to be strategic in planning!
Have a funny image of people singing pop songs to thier dogs too! :rotfl: (if I had a dog Im sure I would be one of those people!! )1 -
Brilliant progress on your mortgage Tilly! Just look how far you've come in just a year. I hope that I will be able to look back on my first MFW year and be as pleased with my own progress.
I can't understand why people don't recycle. I have recently invested in some stacking recycling boxes from Ikea with lift-up lids for all the different sorts of recycling. They are brilliant - in such a big household we generate a huge amount of recycling, particularly cardboard and plastic bottles - and having a system encourages everyone to sort things out. I have had to patiently explain to one lodger about the different between "paper" and "cardboard" - personally I thought it was pretty obvious, but seemingly not!

Hi CA, we have three bins in the kitchen, so we literally recycle as we go along
. In terms of non recycled rubbish, we average about 1/2 a black sack a week, which is great for a family of 4. The rubbish from yesterday has been sorted and almost all is recyclable.
We are all pleased with the mortgage progress. The Tilly MFW anniversary will see us offset to just under £242k. I think that may be slightly lower than so will check back through my diary to see.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes to torture thier pets with singing, the dog ingnores me completely, the cat (siamese and mouthy) howls back at me
Oh, this is also a useful form of torture when the kids won't get up for school in the morning.
Have a good weekend Tilly, hope you have a good holiday next week too.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi Tilly and all :hello:
Great progress Tilly and I love seeing all the small OP's you make, especially the ones that are in pence. When I looked on the board a few weeks ago I noticed a thread about the smaller OP's and folk were updating about one in the low pounds and I thought of you and sure enough, lower down the thread someone mentioned yours :rotfl:
I don't normally contribute to the food things here (although many of you leave me with my mouth watering when I read your updates) but must mention a delicious pasta I made last night where I heated some olive oil, garlic and black pepper on a tray in the oven then threw in a loads of veggies to roast, tomatoes, asparagus, leeks, onion, peppers and mushroom. I then made a lovely tomato and crea sauce to go with it all and it was dlish when I threw it together. It's so rare now that I get the chance to cook so it was nice to making something again albeit it was something with mimimal effort :rotfl:
Not long now until your holiday Tilly, it's much deserved for you all and brilliant that you still having great family times and adding to the memories while also making vast inroads into the mortgage, well done you
Regards

Errm, I'm not sure what this says about me but it was always french toast in our house
:D
For a long time I didn't even know French toast was the same as eggy bread until I asked someone how they made their eggy bread when they had mentioned making some :cool:MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Hi ATT, realy looking forward to going away, and although it has cost far more than normal holidays, it will have many memories and be a treasured holiday to remember.
Your pasta dish sounds fab x x x
I must admit I laugh about our OPs, could be as so all as literally pennies, then every week it's the lodgers rent, and monthly the big OP. The fact that I consistently OP is fantastic and I love to see the difference. You may have read that I have stopped my own spreadsheet for the mortgage now. FD are brilliant and you can phone then, they'll extrapolate your current trends across the years and give you end dates etc. Given my insane spreadsheet mania mainly due to work, it does mean it's one less to maintain at home :T
Have had two fab walks with the dogs today already. I take such joy from watching them be free and run at full pelt, yet they are are gloriously gentle as well.
