  • Evening, not sure MRN & TallGirl whether you are encouraging me to start dieting now,or eat more now, or start exercising and eat more :rotfl:

I'm off on hols soon, so won't be committing to any dieting until I return, which leaves a few weeks until Christmas to shift a few pounds and £ :)

NSD again, clocking them up now, but I do need to do a small shop on Friday evening.

I cannot believe it is Thursday tomorrow, and heading towards the weekend.

Have a good night, Tilly x

  • Morning, confirmation from £co that £10.36 has been paid in to the bank, but I guess this won't show up until tomorrow. Will OP as soon as it clears.

NSD ahead. Long dog walk planned for early evening, whilst the dinner is cooking.

Mr T and I are sitting to finish the financials. For some reason I have out this off during the week and I am not sure why I am prevaricating about it. Once dinner is finished, we will head off to the study and get it sorted.

Looks like a good day to hang your washing out, and that reminds me I have some ironing to do, with my new iron. That's not happening this evening, so will finish it tomorrow afternoon. I have a load of calls so may as well multi task.

    Have a great day, Tilly x x

Congrats on the Quidco payout :)

Re. prevaricating - I suppose the key is to keep it sensible. Going over the financials with OH is a good chance to sit down, check that everything is working as it should, fix anything that isn't and to set sensible goals. Unless you need to make radical lifestyle changes to support your new OP habit, what's the worst that can happen?

Tbh I'm not really keen on discussing financials with Mrs E - she thinks I'm obsessed with them and I think she's disinterested to the point of getting nowt done :D We've now reached a happy medium where I essentially do what I like with our financials as long as I don't move us into a van and am happy to discuss any questions she might have.
  • Hi Edinburgher, in the Tilly household, doing financials means emptying wallets, purses, updating spending diary, checking bank/credit card statements etc. I used to do this religiously every Monday evening, but this has lapsed - still updating the spending diary, but is only one aspect. I am looking at clearing the mortgage as a programme, containing a variety of work streams or projects. It was adopting this approach which was the final piece for Mr Tilly to jump on the bandwagon with me.

However, thinking about your perception of financials, has made me realise where we went wrong - thank you. Mr T was never interested in where our money went, and lived very much in the here and now. I on the other hand, enjoyed the life style that this meant, but then got frustrated that any financial checking had to be done by me, or me pushing us both. I would swing wildly from doing it all, to none of it. The way you have things set up in your family, means that the frustration isn't there - very sensible IMO.

Thankfully those days are long gone and we have a good system, just need to stop the prevarication.

Your posts really make me stop and think which I appreciate.

    Best wishes Tilly x
