  • Evening, better late than never - we had planned on doing the car boot next weekend, but the weather forecast for today seemed ok, so we braved it this morning. Books, bedding, linen, games, CDs, DVDs, a few videos , pictures, mirrors, just stuff, stuff, stuff - up at the crack of ridiculousness :eek: and then a flask of coffee and reduced croissants to keep us going :T no bacon rolls GG :rotfl:

We had a fab time, a lot of laughs as I offered to sell Mr T with just about everything we were selling - no takers for him though.

Apart from videos and some CDs we did really well and I now have far less stuff in the garage. £62 profit, guess where that's going :T

I haven't caught up with everyone's diaries yet, so will need to catch up today and tomorrow.

Bargainous Roast beef and all the trimmings for dinner - shopped in L!dl for the bits we needed. Plus managed to plate up two meals for the kids for tomorrow night as well, plus the dogs had the bone from the beef (after a bit of jiggery pokery with a sharp knife).

The money I paid into the bank yesterday has been OPd as well. All in all a fab weekend. Unbelievably busy but very rewarding.

Have a good week and get blackberry picking, there are loads this year :T

Funny that, as I thought Mr T must have sold you :rotfl:. Glad you had a good day :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • :rotfl::rotfl: Mr T had to take me home with him as he didn't fancy doing the ironing :rotfl::rotfl:

Clearly I know my place :)

  • Hi Peonie, we have discussed me doing another regular saver, but no, i am not going to. Whilst it makes a bit of sense financially, knocking a further £300 (Mr Ts doesn't finish yet) per month off the mortgage will help the journey now.

We are making big inroads and need this to carry on. I know that everyone has differing views about saving vs OP, but if one of us were made redundant we could live on one salary, which would be easier if the mortgage was as low as possible.

    Have a good week, Tilly x x

Well done for your car boot sale - we always have lots of laughs doing them too. £62 and a de-cluttered home is great :D

  • Hi Tilly,

Well done on the de-cluttering and selling. I had a peak in our car boot cupboard and it's almost full enough but I have some larger items on freecycle so if they go before we get a free Sunday then we'll wait till after Christmas for a car boot. Gosh how sad am I to have a car boot strategy?!

Glad you had a good weekend and hope you got the packed lunches made in time!
