Just catching up with your diary. Wow, lots of exciting stuff occurring with you. Glad you are all settled in your new home, sounds fab. Brilliant Aldi bargains too. Just need some more sunshine now to try them out (she says watching the rain come down again :rotfl:)

  • Thanks for dropping by chums - yep saving £4.3k was a bit of a no brainer but the original solution would have been so elegant. Anyhoo decision taken. I just have to go to every Aldi in the area to ensure I can buy three brollies - no pressure :rotfl:

Island units are here now waiting for final confirmation on fitting date. Guaranteed to be before Sunday night :p. Marvellous but we were planning on a very long walk on Saturday. Island wins though and our plans will have to switch if necessary.

Worksurface chap will come over and measure up and use his gadgets to map out the corners - all sounds technical to me - he then needs a few days to cut, deliver and fix. Fingers crossed I have a working island in two weeks. We are having two tops made for trolley type items we have. Just need to paint the bases then he can fix those too.

Off to have a cuppa now.

    Best wishes Tilly xx

  • Island update - may be fitted tomorrow- won't hold my breath but fingers crossed.

Work surface will be another week or so but until I unusual and is done I can't organise the guy to come over.

Important news I weighed myself this morning - I have lost 1 stone over the last 6 months. Ok I still have another 2 to go but heading in the right direction.

    Happy days, Tilly xx

  • What sadness to wake up to.

With Trump pontificating in the ME right now

We have home grown terrorists. With the education and opportunities available to all in the U.K. this is the thanks the country and its people receive.

RIP and condolences to anyone personally impacted by last night.

So true, Tilly, I woke up to it too, didn't know last night. Utterly, utterly horrible.

  • Evening, quick update - I have most of an island but no work surface yet. I am reliably informed it will be fitted on Tuesday but I am not holding my breath. We have filled it though which means all my cupboards are sorted - happy days.

Glorious couple of days until today. We managed to eat breakfast outside but shortly afterwards it poured :(

Had a Rupert Bear adventure day and loved it. Also walked down the road and bought six coloured eggs and six duck eggs for £2 - from a neighbour 😊

Really pleased the island is almost sorted :)

Eggs bought from neighbours gates are, in our experience, the best ever - very bright yolks and often double yolks too!

    Have a marvellous day xx
