  • Pleased you had a good time with your mum - it is precious, isn't it. Has the move taken you nearer to her?

Hi Apple Munched- I'm just under an hour away now rather than 2.5 hrs. Really has made a big difference.

Very previous and given her age (well over 90) it's great that she is still up to going out.

Hope all is well with you.

Tilly do you have any advice for planning a garden? I would like to start doing something with my garden, taking my time as I go but I would like a rough plan. I am a gardening newbie but would like to learn.

Hi AJ, may be worth mediating MuddyWhiteChicken as she is a gardening geru.

I'll pm you with the approach Mr T is taking - very logical chap 😉

In the meantime you need to decide what you want from your garden. A place to sit and relax, or growing veg and fruit, flowers, shrubs etc.

Storage is something else to consider - if needed, why, what will it contains.

Hope all is well with you, Tilly xxxx

  • Hi Tilly

I've read a few pages, not sure I can catch up of 500-odd! I'm planning to do some work in my garden too this year. Front is just grass and I want beds, back is just concrete so I want lots of nice things in pots, a kind of courtyard garden. Don't want to spend too much on it as we've just started a mortgage and I'm keen to overpay that too!

I'll subscribe so I can keep up with your progress :)

Glad you're nearer to your mum now, Tilly - must make it easier :)

Am impressed (although not really surprised!) at your superb organisational skills in sorting the new house! :D

  • Morning

What a fab weekend weather-wise- both kids at home. Lunch in the garden and now it's just me and Mr T. After a very busy three weeks away, I'm catching up on a host of jobs.

I listed 2 of our items on the bay of e last night. I've been careful with starting price and have quite a few watchers- if they sell that's £200 minimum in the bag. I will be listing all bar one of the remaining items tonight. Hopefully that will clear the remaining stuff out of the garage and as shelving is already up and stuff stored - results in a tidy finished garage where everything is easily accessible. Joy oh joy.

Mr T has been busy building three compost bins. Not bad considering its all left over wood so far. I need to buy some more chicken wire to finish.

Need to chase island people today- can't wait to see the kitchen finally sorted. I've moved stuff out of the garage already so kitchen is currently higgledepiggly.

Not sure how I've done this buy managed to lose 4lbs over the last 3 weeks :rotfl:gin and tonic is obviously the secret tip WW and SW don't tell you about.

    Best wishes Tilly xxx

Morning, best laid plans and all that. Island is not being fitted until late next week. Complete cockup over ordering between fitter and unit supplier. However, it's now rescheduled and will be finished by 21st May latest. That's a Sunday so won't be holding my breath.

I still have to list stuff on the bay of e but life got in the way of my task list. I've crossed a few bits off and that will have to move to next week. I have written all he text though :T. Quite a few watchers on the two items already uploaded and live. Fingers crossed they sell as that will create the space we need to carry on tidying.

Blinds for kitchen were fitted yesterday and look great. We were going to have an awning fitted but we've seen garden brollies in Aldi for £40 - three would give all the cover we need and save us £4300 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm off to sort the washing machine, hang out washing, prepare something for dinner then collapse on in a heap.
