Hi Tilly, I have heard you mentioned so many times on this forum... you really have inspired a LOT of people! Trying to get through your diary but with over 10k comments, it's not easy! I wondered if you'd ever considered writing a book with the 'best bits' from your diary/story. I'm sure it would go down well (I'd buy it!). Just a thought as I carry on catching up :)

  • Hi Ch4rlu, lovely compliment and I really do hope it's inspired a few people. Our family would not be in the position we are today without MSE. Revolutionised our lives.

    Food for thought.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Very glad that you are in the dream home xx
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Where oh where have the last two months gone? We've had a garage built; extended terrace (waiting for other side to be done as well); spec'd and ordered island for kitchen; consolidated two storage units to one and now the remaining one has been half emptied.

Paddock section of garden now has a gate and is accessible- dogs love it. I've met some great people plus already had house guests from our previous home town.

Joined a gardening club, booked a bread baking course and started volunteering.

Still to do - find a church. Buy hedging plants for front. Shed ordered and will become fitness room.

Many plants required but we're not doing more now until September. Too many trips away, celebrations for big birthdays and caring for mum in the next few months.

Finally - we are so pleased we moved. Right time, right place. Work in Portugal starts in late September this year and it's going to be bedlam.

    Very best wishes Tilly xx
