Afternoon, lovely weekend with Mr & Mrs MWC and I have a new favourite drink - rhubarb gin with pink peppercorns, pink grapefruit and tonic
Good result on eb@y and items packed and posted this morning. Another 8 items listed last night.
Change paid into bank on Saturday £19.59 - this is going towards the patio extension.
Mr T has had his bonus and salary information in - not great but better than nothing.
All our financial stuff has been done this morning 😀
All big spending is now done.
Hurray.

Hello,
It is always great when you finish a project, add up what it cost and draw a line under it. Until the next time.....
:jPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Morning, rain again. Mr T and I are off for a couple of weeks in the sun late June. Last minute decision and although using Portugal as a base we are off to visit chums in Spain and Gibraltar. Looking forward to sun rather than rain.
I've worked on the renovation costings and we are pretty much set with the savings. As we have either been trying to clear a mahoosive mortgage or save for the renovation, it's odd to find ourselves in the position of money available to spend. As an example of how much we have changed since 2010, a year before I started my diary - we have treated ourselves. I have bought 3 books via Amazon - two at 1p plus £2.80 postage (each) and one at £9.99 with free postage. Mr T has bought an audio receiver - 50% off and the old one is already on eb@y.
We are both delighted with our purchases and now it's back to saving without a goal.
Happy and peaceful days - thank you :money:

Brilliant. Well done DS with the saving. And so glad you're getting some holidays too.
DD1 came in yesterday with £35 towards her ISA. When it reaches £100 we can pay into her S&S ISA (one of her funds has increased by 61%..amazing. She has chosen them all - all ethical/health/technology..think you choose these things from your world perspective). She is doing what you arranged with DD1 a few years ago..paying herself £20 a week and then her pocket money and any extra money from her job and any babysitting goes into the ISA. That's great Brizzle- really does teach them to save first and then spend.
DD is delighted with her savings and it's a big help towards buying their first joint house. Happy days.

That's interesting as I thought perhaps the joining criteria had changed. I did an introduction for him and he receives £100. We then get £50 and I'll transfer that to him too. I wonder whether being introduced helped?
The FD lady on the phone yesterday was surprised that a young lad was getting so organised. She asked him what he was saving for and he said to buy a house.
As an adult joining FD, I never questioned how you are treated as I expected good service but DS was delighted to be treated as a fully fledged adultAs an observer though, the amount of correspondence they send for an online account is HUGE.
