Guys, I'm new to this... been a MSE subscriber for a while, but never engaged into forums.
I'm in my mid 20s, living on my own in a nice 2 bedroom house (purchased 04/17), got a decent job -
Accountant. But I'm not having much luck with savings, maybe due to my debts that I've accumulated
in late teens, early 20s ... ;(
I know, there probably have been numerous posts on ways to raise extra cash, detailed plans on savings, etc. But, I'm going to be very cheeky and ask for help!
I've been trying the following:
- Switching current accounts to get intro cash/vouchers - 1st Direct to M&S
- Taken M&S credit card out to earn extra points
- Also, taken Nectar card out, as they will award 30 000 points if you spend £2k in first 3 months
- Signed up to SwagBucks
- Installed MediaCell+ app (£10 voucher + £10 for every months you send the data in)
- Might sound a little bit strange, but every night after the gym I go to M&S and buy reduced items for supper and the next day. Try not to buy anything full price nowadays.
I would greatly appreciate help in becoming MF
Thanks guys!0 -
Roman, this is Tilly's personal diary
Please can I suggest you start your own thread rather than try to get replies here which is Tilly's space for her updates
When you start a new thread I'd suggest you add a SOA as it will be the first thing people ask for as they can not advise without having some idea of the figures & as you say you have debts I'd suggest you start in the debt free forum.- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
- Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps1 -
Thanks Trix-A-Belle
Roman, I'd definitely support Trix-A-Belle's advice and start a diary. I promise you there will be loads of advice and support.
There's good movement between DFW and MFW and lots of similarities.
Don't forget to Tilly Tidy your pennies
Good luck Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Back here after a long time away from MSE (new name though) and I've got back in the right mindset by reading your diary again from scratch. I'd like to say thank you again for the inspiration Tilly, I've loved re-reading your journey to mortgage freedom, hearing about the mini-Tillies, Mr T's job hunting.....I've pinched some recipe ideas, found a couple of blogs to read and am re-enthused to get back into MSE. I hope the Tilly clan are well, and thank you to Tilly and the MSE chums for making all 510 pages so interesting to read!0

Morning, interesting discussions on the lovely Brizzle's diary
The sun is finally shining and what a difference it makes.
I haven't posted much as it has been quite a harrowing few weeks. I've had a hospital stay for a possible stroke - wasn't at all but really scared me. Mr T definitely wants to move jobs to set himself up to do contracting when he retires early. He is 50 next year.
