They probably think it's not important hun. A lot of people don't.
Only trhe people who love their pets see it as a missing part of the family.
There's a few who have said to me 'what's all thr fuss about, it's only a dog'.. and they quickly get a mouthful from me. They think I should 'get over it'. Until I know what's happened to him- I won't get over it mate! I'll function, I'll work, I'll get on- but I won't ever 'get over it' Only us animal folks understand that.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

I absolutely hate it when people say "It's only a dog"! When my old dog died I was beyond gutted, and a neighbour said, "Can't you just get another one? Dogs are cheap enough!" How I didn't launch myself at her, I'll never know.
But if you have loved a dog you'd do anything to protect him, anything to save him. If he's suffering, you're suffering twice as much.
I do totally understand that you'll never get over this. It's even worse not knowing what's happened to Ruaridh. You are living a nightmare and I only wish I could do something - anything at all - to help bring Ruaridh home. I do still believe he WILL come home. I certainly hope so with all my heart.

Could we appeal for anyone in your area who has night vision goggles to help with a night search? Just in case he's only coming out at night?0

Some people are shockingly ignorant and are also emotionally insular. It's a flaw in their make up, but sadly they wont recognise it as such.
A punch in the kisser sometimes helps them be less offensive.:D

I have to admit that I was one of those people - could never understand why people risked life and limb for just a dog.
Then we got spot - and when he went missing it all became clear why people risk life and limb and why grown men go soft with their best mate.
fingers crossed for a happy - if overdue - ending

let see if we have missed something
1 dog trust and other home had been informed
2 all local papers
3 police
4 dog warden
5 schools and club
6 facebook
7 postmen etc
what about golf courses?
were was he last seen do we have a map and we could start ringing round shops etc
I am happy to help.
I think somebody has found him and taken him in .
a few years ago i found a dog in high st she had got out in a thunder storm i put lead on and tried to walk her home but gave up. I rang the police and two hours later the parents came for her , she was a black and white cross , then about a week later i get a call from police telling me they had found my white westie ? so i would start again , if we got a list of emails we could send the a picture.0 -

Wish I could thank this multiple times :T
If he's not back by the weekend, is there any way of getting a group of people to meet somewhere and have a good old search (2 groups would be brill, one in nairn and one in croy or something?) - maybe saturday or sunday? I don't have facebook, but aren't they good for these kind of things? Does it only work for parties when your parents are away? Or the dogslost site, would they have information about organising such a thing? I feel ashamed of keep saying why not do this and do that and doing nothing myself. I wish I lived nearer. It's a good 4.5 to 5 hour drive from me according to the AA.
Or maybe that would scare him? It's so hard to know what to do.
I posted about him on a scottish metal detecting forum yesterday (hope that's OK sazzy, sing out if not and I'll remove!) asking anybody round there to keep an eye out. They tend to hang out in lonely fields where nobody else goes, so worth a try (bit of a long shot though).
Also, was driving home last night after 1am and saw a dog trotting along the pavement (not lost). It made me wonder if he could be lying low in the daytime and travelling by night?Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -
