What about posting flyers through peoples doors?I know it'd take a lot of manpower but just an idea

I know gr, and that's why I had such high hopes for the press and journal, the courier, and tomorrow mornings Nairnshire- because all the 'oldies' buy them to get their fix of news.
I will admit to being devastated when the P and J didn't come up with anything.
I'm really trying not to let my hopes get too built up for the Nairnshire-but I can't help it. I think I'm being good then when no results I collapse in a blubbering heap. I couldn't tell you how many boxes of tissues I've got through the past ten daysRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

All post offices in the area (people still get their pensions in post office?)
All possible shops, petrol stations, chemists, doctor's surgeries, dentists etc etc etc - posters, visible posters everywhere as the internet search despite people's best efforts is not bringing the result0 -

I think the knocking on doors is the best idea, if the dog warden doesn't work out tomorrow. If Nairn doesn't have a massive amount of houses, would it be possible to get together with other helpers there and have a think about identifying anybody old, disabled, housebound, wouldn't be likely to have the internet, might not read the papers, non English speaking even? Might possibly have taken Ruaridh in and wanting to keep him? Or any local "characters" known for being animal lovers but a bit strange? Are there any care homes for elderly/disabled people? A poster there might bring a result from visitors etc.
Might have missed it sazzy, but who was it that told you about the dog that was supposed to have been picked up in Forres and taken to the Brumley Brae kennels? How did they get that information?0 -
Hi, I have posted flyers throough doors around about, as for the strange one who takes in animals- that's probably me and my next door neighbour:o. None else that I know of.
I'll go further afield ion the flyer thing. You think Nairn is small until you start going round the neighbourhoods though
The reason for the Forres one was that I called the dog warden there on the off chance and the girl in the office said 'oh, that sounds familiar, I'm sure the DW picked up a black lab on Friday and took it to Brumley Brae' cue frantic phoning and people going up there.
But they said nothing had been brought in the last few days. The DW was in a meeting and was going to call me back- but didn't despite me phoning several times. Thanks to a post on the group though- I got an email address and I emailed them last night with his picture, and I'll be calling again today.
I really am starting to lose hope now though, I know I shouldn't and feel so guilty about it.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Please don't feel guilty sazzy - I think it is perfectly normal to start to lose hope after this amount of time. Especially given that Sean is so far away, BUT please keep going. You always regret the things that you didn't do, not the things you do, iyswim. (((Hugs))) for you, sorry they're only virtual ones 'cos you sound like you need lots.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Just been on the preparing for winter thread and posted your facebook link in response to another poster's request. I hope Almond doesn't mind, but her light was off so she wasn't around to answer. I guess the main thing is that we get Ruaridh's details out to as many people as possible.
And now I really must go to bed.
Sazzybum, I hope you get some sleep tonight. xx
of course i don't mind i told the ladies on here how nice people were on the preparing for winter thread.
I was stood outside last night waiting for bob to decide to have a wee (just learnt to !!!! leg up) but he keeps falling over and thought omg how cold and that poor dog , i am sure we are going to get some good news today0 -
Don't give up yet! He will be home soon!!! Lets hope today brings good news
Steph xx0 -
Sazzy, you are allowed the odd negative thought but don't give up hope. He is out there somewhere.
So many people are keeping an eye out for him and it will only be a matter of time before he gets spotted.
Sending you hugs and more tissues.
I got my pup a few weeks ago and it is kitchen roll we went through like no tomorrow until he learnt to do his business outside :rotfl::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
