For anyone (like me) who got confuzzled about the Croy sighting, it's not the Croy near Glasgow! It's a village near Nairn, not the North Lanarkshire town. I hope it was him* and that you get him back soon, Sazzy, but I must admit to see that someone approached him and got a tail-wag then shooed him away, breaks my heart. Haven't been here all weekend so have only just read that. My OH thinks I'm mad, sitting here crying ("the snotters tripping me" as my mum would say).
Has anybody sat down with a decent map of the area and tried to see if there's any logical route he might have taken? That might sound daft as he was running in panic and not being logical, but I mean if there's a thing like a river or any other obstruction that he would have to go around rather than through it might give a clue to someone with local knowledge.
The sighting of him that's most definite was the one near the police station/museum, so perhaps to start from there. What path would a runnning dog take? I'm just clutching at straws I suppose. I wish I lived nearer.
Has the brumley brae lady been given his details? Sounds like the kind of place people might take a stray to.
*just thought, is there any reason to think that it was him? Did the lady say why she no longer thinks it's her neighbour's dog now? Or is she just not sure?Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

On a more serious note, hoping for good news soon

I bet the police have a way of contacting him out of hours.0 -
I'm about 8 milesd away from that dog wardens office, but someone did go round, and of course he 'wasn't available' I did call that districts police station and they had no record of any strays.
Yes it's the Croy in the Highlands thistle(and yes, snotters are tripping me too). The police didn't say it was definitely Ruars at the police station that night- they 'thought' it was.
The Croy sighting is perfectly logical, as the river comes through here, then Cawdor onto Croy and Galcantry..in fact we thought that would be the first place he would head-straight down the river. Unfortunately the chap who shooed him away hadn't read the paper until he got back in from his garden. His neighbours have a lot of dogs- didn't realise how many until I went down there yesterday.
I didn't think of community wardens Chris. I'll get onto them tomorrow- if my work doesn't sack me first..they've been really brilliant so far.
Yes- the Brumley Brae people have my numvber in big letters on their noticeboard now with the details. They had them before -I called them a few times last week, but evidently they went 'missing'
I've asked Dragon Lady to give the DW a message when he gets out with the details of why I'm calling etc. I feel so effing helpless just now to be honest! Feel like I'm just going round in circles chasing ghostsRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them0 -
All this messing about is the last thing you need at the moment. Wouldn't you think, being fully aware of what you've been through for the last ten days, they could all get their act together and do what they're being paid to do??? Surely not too much to ask! I don't know how you haven't gone completely mad.
Just really hoping and praying now.0 -
As hard as this must be, especially Dragon Lady, don't miss the good in this.
There are positive-sounding sightings, and if he is wagging his tail he is in good spirits! He must have found somewhere to eat and sleep, and he is around.
He'll be home before you know it - he probably doesn't even realize how long he has been away, or the effect it would have on you - it's just good fun being out to explore!
I hope he phones you back with good news very soon. I've got my fingers crossed.0 -
