Thanks, I've sent you a PM.. but can't attach a photo for some reason. He ran off this evening at 7pm, and I'm just so worried about how scared and cold he'll be.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Snazzy I really hope your boy is back safe & well now, please keep us updated.
Tess the cat is quite happy & unbothered, the only time i've seen her react is when she wanted to go out the front door - normally she uses a catflap in the back window - and one went off really loud so she ran back in.
Chaya the dog hates them, she shakes like a jelly & takes a while to settle but she did calm down for a while. She refuses to go out to the toilet until about an hour after they stop, then will only go under the bush right by the door & shoot back in.
I too wish they were display only on set days!0 -
Thanks Tiger. No, no word yet.
Extremely grateful to gettingready who has went out of her way to help me.
It's frosty outside now- the cars are covered, and it's so cold. I just hope he's found somewhere nice and warm to rest. Just made a pot of coffee to keep me company for the long night ahead. The poor puppy is looking all over the place for the old boy, then crying. It's heartbreaking.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Sazzybum - how far from home did he get lost?
Was he seen near the Police station once or more times?
Is the POlice station far from you?
Perhaps, if you drive - you could go there and call him from the car?
I really dont know what to advise.... if he comes home he will wait by the door.. does he know his way round where you live? Does he walk a lot so knows the smells/locations/way home from where you were when he run off?0 -

He ran off when we were 6ft from the front door. Was letting puppy out for a wee, and thought he'd need one too. Knowing he hates fireworks, I put his collar and lead on, but he slipped his collar and took off like a rocket. I ran after him with puppy, but had no hope of catching him.
He was only at the police station once, and I've been there in the car a couple of times shouting on him (now got a pile of puppy sick in the back seat-he hates the car).
I've got the front door open so if he does come home, he can come straight in. We walk often in the woods and round the river a couple of hours a day- but the chap at the police station said he went off in the opposite direction to that. The PS is about 15 minutes walk from me (2 mins in the car).
He did this before 6 years ago, and ended up 8 miles away, and there's no way he'd find his way home if he did that again. I'm just praying he hasn't been hit by a car or something, but as I haven't heard from the police, no news is good news?
I've had a few friends been out in their cars looking for him, but as I mentioned, the woods, beach etc isn't accessable by car, nor is it lit. I think- for the moment- it's a case of sitting drinking coffee and hoping:(Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

OK so he practically run away from home then? That is easier than if he run off in some strange to him place, there is a chance he will be able to retrace his steps and come back... what is it, just over 24 hours now?
Is the polic station very far from where you live? Did you ever walk with him that way, would he know how to get back home from there?
I hope he turns back home soon....
EDIT - need specsaves, you already said the POlice station is 15 min from you.....0
