    I've been Money Tipped!
I so wish fireworks being sold to the public would be banned. Each year they get louder and louder - what is the point of that?

I have an elderly cat that is terrified and a dog that is none too happy. Last night was the 10th night in a row we heard fireworks. Really loud ones that sounded like explosions and ones that sounded like machine gun fire. My tv at it's loudest setting could not drown the noise out.

Most nights they were going off for around 4 hours. I can understand 5th November as that is bonfire night but why the other nights?

I used to like fireworks, well the pretty ones at least but now I hate them

Sorry I am late putting my post on Ruars thread but my internet has been down. I was pulling my hair out I can tell you. Didn't want you to think I had forgot.
Time is flying but we will never forget. Run free sweet lad, hopefully a warm hearth and a full tummy is there for you wherever you are.

All-thanks once again. If a toy maimed people and animals, it'd be banned without question! So I don't understand why these things are allowed!

Every year people are burnt. Every year, animals are killed and lost-yet the powers that be ignore it? I just don't understand at all.

We'll get there eventually, but how many hearts have to be broken before it happens

My elderly cat went missing on Bonfire night. We were actually away in our caravan and the neighbour was looking after the cats. He saw her in the garden under a bush, but she wouldn't come to him and so he left the conservatory door open for her and came back an hour later, she was nowhere to be seen although her sister was curled up on the sofa.

She was still missing when we returned the following day and all the following night when there were more fireworks.

At 7.00 am the following morning, my doorbell rang. It was my neighbour with the cat! She had been yowling outside our bedroom window (which adjoins the neighbour's bedroom window - (bungalows). I was up and in the living room so hadn't heard her, my husband was asleep in the bedroom, and also hadn't heard her, however, the neighbour had and went out and got her.

She was very hungry and limping on her back leg but otherwise OK. Neighbour delighted, so were we of course!

Her leg is now better - the vet said it was probably a sprain and gave her some Metacam, all OK now.

I have never signed a petition for firework sales to be regulated, but I do think it's a good idea. Limited to November 5th (or nearest Saturday), New Years' Eve, Diwali and Jewish New Year. I will sign next time one appears.

Haven't read the whole thread, but I hope the original dog mentioned did not suffer.

I think of you a lot Ruars, especially when the song, 'Walking pavements' comes on as that was the song in your video. I also especially think of you every time the fireworks start going off. Run free sweetheart, you will never be forgotten. I hope wherever you are now you are happy. God bless you and take care of you. xx Love to Sazzy, you must still miss him so much. xx
