I just wanted to offer some hope...

When I was smaller, we had a rescue dog for a few weeks. We were told he was fine with fireworks, but kept him inside anyway - unfortunately next door decided to start setting them off while he was in the garden (supervised) and he bolted through the house and straight out of the front door.

It took 16 days to get him home. We searched everywhere, and after 14 days the council and radio stations and neighbours were exhausted and all said they didn't think they could do much else, and the hourly walks with his favourite treats and his lead was getting less hopeful. Then we found him on the park. We'd checked it over plenty of times, and he hadn't been there, but he must have found his way back.

He had some frostbite and looked bad for sleeping rough - and was absolutely starving - but he was okay.

I really hope Rory will be too - I have my fingers crossed.

On their website, they say you can text MFR + your message to 61025 to get through to the studio. Or try emailing webmaster@mfr.co.uk, most companies use this address if they have an online presence. You could also try webmaster@bauer.co.uk (their parent company), or there's another company mentioned on their website, so try emailing webmaster@bauermedia.co.uk.

HTH, ((((hugs)))) for you.

Thank you- I've emailed them- but just got a delivery failure message. I'll text them instead, see if that works.

I'm trying to cover every possible base I can in my hunt for him. Try to lessen the guilt a bit maybe.

Will cross post the info on the Great Dane forum also. Not a Dane I know but spreading the word has got to be good?

Oh the poor lad, have everything xed he makes his own way home for hugs and a feed.

It might be a long shot but could be worth trying an animal communicator. I have used Sarah Jane Le Blanc before with my dogs and I know she does tracking work where she can tune into a picture and find out where the lost pet is. http://www.soul2soultherapy.co.uk/AnimalCommunication.html

Best wishes and sending loads of positive vibes your way

Hey sazzy, don't feel guilty in the slightest, you've done nothing wrong. You're a devoted dog owner frantic to find your boy and bring him home, what's wrong with that?

If we all continue our efforts on here and anywhere else we can think of, we'll help bring Rory home if it's at all possible.

And I definitely believe it is.
• Um, just nosing on Google and thought - there's a very large green space behind the police station, to do with the Museum - have you spoken to them, in case the caretaker has found him? Same for the hotel and the sports centre?
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Aw sazzy I'm so sorry. The Police in Nairn are usually very good. We met a WPC who was taking an old lost dog out for a walk every single time she had a few quiet minutes on her shift just in case she met people out looking for her. She didn't want to put her in the kennels (not that there's anything wrong with them, just that she felt the dog was probably missing it's owner and she was trying to help).

Spreading the word is the important thing, the more people you reach the quicker he's likely to be found.

Crossing everything for you. I'd be in bits if my mutt got lost too. x
