Oh God...wouldn't that be wonderful if it's Rory! (Hope you don't mind me spelling his name that way...I'd never get the right spelling otherwise!) Can you get reinforcements and go back down there?

Or track around either direction from the river?

I'd love to, but it's quite thick woods round the river and extremely dark. I walked as far as I could but even with a torch I was tripping all over. I shouted myself hoarse and stayed for a good while-but I've got to think that if it had been him, he would have come home, and shortly after that more fireworks went off, so god knows if he's still there.

Ok, well you can't do any more tonight. At least you know he can find his way home from the river - has the cemetery been checked too?

In the morning, with the level of awareness you've raised today, a lot more people will be looking for him. I do feel you will have him home soon.

    Sending you hugs.

Thank you so much. Yes the cemetary is actually straight across the road from me, so I'd have seen him.. Oh I wish he was there, I really do.

That didn't come out right- but you know what I meant x

Sazzy I really feel for you. My poor dog age 13 1/2 had a stroke on Friday morning . She's still very ill and the fireworks have been a nightmare but at least she is here with me. Hope you find your furry friend soon.

I have been following this thread since 2am this morning when my dog was whining with the fireworks etc. Although I am miles away I just wanted to send my regards and best wishes. I really hope you find him and look forward to opening this thread up later and finding thats the case.

Also you could post Rory's details on D for Dog website, which has a lost dog section, and Doggysnaps.

Both have good numbers of people reading them.
