I know this may be a totally bonkers/impractical idea :o:o BUT what about a car with a megaphone on top & covered with pictures of Rory (& contact details) bellowing out his story - you know, the sort local parlimentary candidates use. You could cruise around local high streets/retail parks, etc, - anywhere where there are lots of folk, especially Xmas shoppers, etc. Maybe hand out more leaflets, etc. It might even then make it enough of a "story" for the big newspapers/TV to get involved ;).

As I say, it may be totally impractical and I don't know about the legalities of it - but at least it will save you streaking for a while :D.

Or shall I just get my coat? :o

Thank you everyone, and no- don't get your coat Frugalista..lol.

If I could find a way to do that- I would! I don't particularly care about the legalities of it to be honest. I've already been charged by the police in the last four weeks, so another one isn't going to make much difference. (And yes, I did get the light fixed-and submitted the forms to them 1 day before the cut off date-at which they apologised for their insensitivity)

    Hi

Not sure if this has been covered as I have tried to keep up as much as possible with here and facebook and may have missed something......
But was helping mother fill out an insurance thing today for her new rescue and it had a "option" for lost dogs now we didnt go into to detail as shes just looking around at the mo so a) not sure if all policys have it and b) what it exactly included, but it did mention posters and a reward for a lost dog.

If there is a chance he has been taken in this I guess may help.

I'm sure its been covered already but just thought I'd mention it just in case its something you may have and not realise.

    Dont give up hope x

I posted early on to say i had jus got my cat back after 10 weeks missing some miles from home. We had had posters up and been actively looking for her, then put up fresh posters with a reward (£250) on. The new posters gave the same shops a reason to put her in their windows again and drew more attention again. It worked fro us and a schoolboy spotted it, made the effort to tell his mum that it may be a cat they had seen in their garden, contact us and fed her until they were able to catch her. It took another 2 weeks after first seeing her.

The £250 sounded quite a bit, but in the great scheme of things it was doable - have just paid £400+ for our other cats vet bill:eek:. If you need a reward fund PM me...I would be happy to make a contribution.

I'll second that, its awful knowing he is out there somewhere and not home with you. You know the song - money talks. A reward might just give people who may not have been too bothered (don't mean that horribly by the way) an incentive, although in my opinion it should be reward enought to get an animal back to its rightful owner. But you know what some people are like, want to know what's in it for them......

Perhaps do some fresh posters with a different pic - got any of the old boy with your lads in uniform? They are serving the country, you want them to have the best coming home present there is. And that would be Ruars (have I spelt that right?)

And take no notice of all the heartless b@$t@rd$ you come across, they are just mean and horrible and not even worth bothering about. You have done everything you possibly can and I still believe he will come home.

Think of you every day even though I don't post much. Keep your chin up. x

Lol, I know what you mean ali, and I've been really good at ignoring trolls. The attention seeking thing didn't really bother me, as I said i'd dance nekkid if he came home -and THAT'S attention seeking (although I don't know how much attention I'd get apart from the local coppers). But the not caring? That seemed to strike a blow.

    But you're right..screw them. I know I care-which is what matters :o

I've followed this thread since the start, never felt a need to post but...I recall a couple of weeks ago that you didn't feel up to posting on it. And I also recall that many people still carried on posting, because they want you to find your dog. I can virtually guarantee there will be many others who check in who never post either.

'Attention-seeking'? 'Not caring'? Pah!! That's nonsense, you love your Ruars and want him back...that's all.

Thank you again for the support, you don't know how much I appreciate it.

We had put in the papers that there was a reward, but you're right, we should get new posters done with a highlighted bit saying so. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of the boys in their uniforms with Ruars, they never wore their uniforms when they came home, apart from their cammie trousers and stable belts when they went out running.

Also- thank you for the offer of a reward fund, please don't take offence when I say-it's ok, it's very much appreciated but we'd get something together somehow. The boys would dip their pockets as well, so we'll manage something. :)

I'll knock something together today at work. I've got the originals there and a new colour printer, might make it stand out more.

    Thanks again

Alieen I'm still around even though I'm not posting I feel pretty useless being here and not being able to help I do check in everyday though.

It does seem that alot of people want to help by donating money to help fine Ruars I am too willing to donate I know you said you can manage but I think it's a way of people feeling more useful. I know I would.

If there is anything I can do at all please let me know

    Take care
