calling somebody a nob head isn't disrespectful. Words are not disrespectful; context and meaning is disrespectful.

Morning nob head, you have a good weekend? - not disrespectful.
i see you still haven't left. Just stay out of my way you f*^king nob head - disrespectful.

Both contexts would be disrespectful if someone used them to me. I just don't see why anyone would think otherwise.

Whatever the Context is, calling people names because its Fun, doesnt register me, its just Childish and Stupid, can People not have fun at Work by simply having a normal Conservation without the Name Calling? I would expect School Kids to be calling each other Knob Heads, not Adults at Work!!!

I do not know how any boss could think that was normal talk. They do it because they know you are not going to reply with the same. It is obvious the OP doesn't think it's said as a joke.

Like everything it's all based on the relationship you have with the other person.

No boss should think it appropriate to speak to someone like that, no matter how good the relationship.

I wouldnt say nob head is disrespectful but its not appropriate though imo. I treat other people as i would like to be treated so im polite to them and they're polite back, ive called people nob or nob head (first job i had) purely because they acted like 1

I recall a local incident some years ago where a chap endured name calling and other aspects of bullying (from th op's perspective, this is bullying), this persisted until one day he turned up for work with a shotgun and killed the main perpetrators - it started with name calling. Something to reflect on.

OP- either go to grievance or find another job with a workplace culture which suits you better.

    Or get a shotgun.

*DISCLAIMER* I advise you NOT to actually get an actual shotgun.

Me and mr tru work at the same place (him full time, me part time). The owners are husband and wife. Boss refers to mr tru as 'bell end', he refers to boss as 'knobsack'. Just to keep things fair, the wife is referred to as 'mrs knobsack'. I have no idea what they call me, no-one's been brave enough to give me a name yet :rotfl:

You really shouldn't be feeling sorry for me because I live in the real world where friends call each other nob heads and tit heads

Huh, I was pretty sure I was living in the real world too, but all my friends are actually nice to me.
