    Hi Taplady:)

Hope it's ok but I'm just jumping into this thread to say, I agree with ivyleaf, it really is better to do it sooner than later, my depression started over 20 yrs ago but I didn't really think it WAS depression. It took me over 10 years to do something about it, by then it had gone too far and since then I've spent the last 10 years getting worse, trying to find something that works for me, just unlucky I guess! I'm really hopeful about the tablets I've recently started on though:). Who knows, if you do something about it sooner you might not even need pills? I'm just so annoyed with myself that I've wasted the best years of my life feeling exhausted, anti- social and just generally rotten, if you let it go it really can become so hard to get out of and I wouldn't want that to happen to you! Good luck with whatever you decide to do xx

Happy birthday Beth, glad its been a good one...what a lovely OH you have!

Taplady.....I spent many years being 'strong' and coping with things that others couldn't face and then collapsed in a heap....five years on I am still on medication and find life difficult at times, so please go and talk to your doctor...no need to mention depression, just say how you feel and I am sure that doctor will pick up on what needs doing....you may just have some kind of mineral deficiency which can be easily sorted so please make the appointment.

    Bramble....hugs to you, sad time.

Ivy..nice to see you posting, even if its only sometimes.

    Farmer's wife, congratulations on promotion.

    Ruby...look after yourself.

NPM...hugs to you and Noah, hope that you can get some help.

Really sorry to hear about that horrendous crash in Somerset....I hate fog.

It has been a nice crisp, sunny day here and we have frost to-night, so its really into Autumn...hope that it lasts for a bit as I like this kind of weather, seems to wake me up a bit...I have my third wash in the machine for to-day, no more space to hang round house I think, and I want to do my bedlinen in the morning, would like to put that on line if possible. Heat has been on for an hour morning and evening last few days, as if this old house gets cold it takes forever to warm up again.

Hugs to all I haven't mentioned, amnesia is getting worse, enjoy your evening, stay safe and sleep well.

Thank you everyone, I am getting teary eyed reading your stories. I feel so down and OH isn't being terribly supportive right now. He doesn't really know what to do/say.

    Hi all

Only just now catching up with the thread, as I've been laid up poorly all day.:(

    Happy birthday Beth

    Belated Happy Birthday Jannyannie

Tappers please go and visit your GP; catch the problem early on! You don't want to end up a mental wreck like me!:o I too was brought up to ignore “stress” type things – hell, I was brought up to ignore any illness! And I've now been on anti-d's of one sort and another for more years than I'd ever have thought possible.

Bramble No advice I'm afraid, but lots of (((HUGS))) and strength vibes. The last time we saw Mr LW's pal Colin, we had no idea he was going to leave us. My last words to him as we exited his hospital room were “Blessed be” and I'm so very glad I said that.:o He was instrumental in bringing Mr LW and me together.

REALLY late to pop in today but been busy all day.
been to a body conditioning class today first thing and i need it with all the mince pies ive been stuffing. todays healthy eating has consisted of four home made biscuits, two bowls of cereal, two rolls, a mcflurry, an indian take away and mince pies and custard. oh dear that went a bit wrong.
took little ones to play area straight after shower from class then lunch then straight out again to do the shopping. i had two trolleys and put 45 pound in each so that i qualified using the asda 5 off scheme. spent far too much.
then by the time id been to the library it was dark and that was my day nearly gone.
now snuggled on the sofa bed with my daughter watching telly. perfect day.

He probably just doesn't want to make you feel worse. If he's anything like my H they like to be practical to fix things and this can't be fixed.
Sending you hugs and whatever you do tomorrow just make sure you tell him how much you love him. I remember seeing H's cousin the last time. We didn't know it was going to be then but we knew she didn't have very long. H could never bring himself to say goodbye each time he saw her so he would say see you around. Do what you can manage.
Sending you lots of hugs xxxx

Tappers it was Lesley your friend? I don't believe she would be happy to see you like this. if you want to talk about things you know where I am xxx

Bramble, he probably just is at a loss for words....when my dad was in the hospice I stayed with him for a week, rushing home about 6am for a shower and clean clothes and back again, OH was left to sort out the kids and give me a flying hug!
The day dad died he was asleep when I got home, but obviously must have sensed something , got up to find me in bits in the living room, wasnt able to vocalise too well but by god he kept the family running for a week or 2!

    Evening all

Nannygladys - twinks are a HM oat type biscuit that are absolutely delicious and really easy to make - recipe is on the front page.

Bramble - big hugs coming your way - when DH's nan was hospital I couldn't ever tell her how much I loved her, but just said "see you later" when we left, I'd hold her hand whilst we were there. I think as others have said you will know what to say when it's needed, we're all here for you xxx
