Try this.

Delete the copy of DDS you already have.
Boot into Safe Mode with networking.
Download DDS again, & also the other file I'll link you to; WiNlOgOn.exe
Save them both to your desktop.

WiNlOgOn.exe: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/WiNlOgOn.exe

Boot into normal mode

Right click on the file WiNlOgOn.exe and choose run as Administator.

After a short while when it's finished, Notepad will open with a log of the processes it's stopped.


Try to run DSS again.

Hi sorry you say delete the copy of DSS I already have? Where do I find this? In programs? Might bhave to try this tomorrow am shattered. How long will the laptop carry on working, before it crashes? I will get some help on Tuesday to reinstall everything, Tuesday evening.

what did the blue screen say?

setup could be simplified a lot by unticking a lot of those O4's in msconfig, startup tab and rebooting, disabling windows defender, uninstalling google toolbar

run chkdsk c: /F

to check there aren't any corruptions lingering

and install and run ccleaner slim

is roboform essential?

When i try this run chkdsk c: /F a black box pops up for short time then goes.

blue screens are rarely virus related, nothing standing out in that log, but it won't show every infection.
