  • Thanks Pinot

I can't get it to recognise the ISBNs. they are text books and quite heavy so I can't see them being economically worthwhile to post etc. I need to bit the bullet and just get rid. I am such a hoarder it is crazy, I would be the prefect candidate for that life laundry programme that used to be on.

Life post DMP.... I'd like to think I would be fully rehabilitated by then, then again.......

  • Its only 9.30 and I think I may just crawl back into bed and rest my weary head !

Mr Pinot did the school run for me this morning ( I hate that job ) and was then due to go over to my parents to fix a fence for them that had blown down in this awful wind. Had a call from mum at 8.30 to say not to come, as my dad was really ill again and shes trying to get him seen at the doctors. Mr Pinot came home in the meantime and as I was still in PJs s said he will still go over there and drive him to the Doc as hes not really well enoughto drive himself. He is so good. So he has gone and I will wait to hear whats going on.

I decided then ,that as its bin day, and I could hear the trucks, to nip outside in said PJs and organise the bins and bottle recycling. Unfortunately for me, I forgot to put the front door on the latch and managed to lock myself out in the street in PJs, no shoes and a strappy vest top . Not very appealing !:p Not been clever enough to leave a key with neighbours and phone was in house so couldnt call Mr Pinot to rescue me. The only alternative was to try to scale the 7 foot heigh double , wrought iron, locked gates ( with spiky bits on top I might add !) that would then get me onto the driveway and round to the back door, that thankfully I had unlocked this morning . Not a pretty sight or an easy task I can assure you, particularly as the bin men decided right at that moment to pull up right outside the house and watch. Mortified is not the word !! :rotfl: Anyway Bear Grylls eat you heart out, how on earth I managed it I will never know, but I am back inside in the warm now with a nice hot cuppa !!

Note to self, give spare key to neighbours, Ive only lived here 10 years !!

    Task for today -

Post two letters written yesterday requesting refund of bank charges - one s £550, another £998 and I am currently waiting to hear back on a small PPI for £100 and another credit card of £998.

Also finish letters requesting SAR, I have found PPI on a card dating back to 1999, not sure how succesful I will be on getting the SAR going back that far, but its certainly worth a try. There are a shed load of charges on that card also.

Chase NW re another SAR as they havent responded yet.

Arrange collection of Clothes Sack as not done that yet.

Oh, and do a spot of housework, pack girls dancing bags ( complete with too small shoes, must sort that ) and work !

Hope you all have a good blustery day ! xx:)

    Oh the thought..........

Post DMP I am planning to put 75% of my DMP payment into overpaying the mortgage.........dreaming about life post DMP keeps me going.

We're in a similar position to you Pinot, interest only etc. If OH gets a job after his imminent redundancy that the first thing to be tackled. Also out mortgage goes on to variable rate then so hoping to make inroads along the lines of your plans HH. Depends on his salary which won't be as high whatever happens.

Great thread i'm looking forward to following with interest. I'm off now to do a customer's ironing. Deep Joy!!

I was reading somewhere the other day that text books tend to sell easier than anything, maybe it would be worth trying ebay or Amazon for those. Strange it doesnt recognise the ISBN numbers, sometimes it tells you it doesnt want the books, but I havent come across it doing that. What a shame !

I am a bit of hoarder too, books, the girls clothes ( especially their old party dresses!) and pictures they have drawn, cards notes etc. I am a bit of a sentimental old fool really. Thats why I am now having a manic clear out. We have two lofts here and both are full to brimming, I fear the ceilings may collapse if I carry on !

It was funny really, I'm wondering how many of the neighbours were hiding behind the curtains having a good laugh at me as well as the blasted bin men !! :rotfl:

  • Hi Pinot, have subscribed to your diary :D

I am at work and so only a short post for now, but reading pre-christmas where you talked about people taking advantage of you and not inviting you to cinema outings etc. I am sorry if I am speaking out of turn here, but I don't think these people can be your true friends. Something springs to mind about keep your enemies closer, but these people sound like they are just taking complete advantage over your good nature.

I have in laws who are really good to us and I see other people (relations particularly) who take complete advantage of their natures, including borrowing money for ipads and not paying back etc. and it drives me up the wall

People who let you pay for things all the time and talk about how much money you have are not the type of people I would want as friends :( Now us lot, who haven't got pots to pee in - we'd ask you to come to the cinema ;):rotfl:

I have spent 33 years being taken advantage of with take take take and I am finally coming round to the fact that I need to say "no" sometimes.

Anyway enough of me waffling about how you should bin all your mates off :p I really should butt out

Bless you being left out with the bin men this morning. I have visions of Mission Impossible music playing in the background as you scale the fence!:rotfl:
    Just keep swimming!
