Hi Pinot, just dropped by to wish you well. Yours is an interesting diary and I will keep following it. My debts are higher than yours (well, mine are higher than most peoples!) if that is any consolation. We will both get there, and importantly we will enjoy the challenge and not let our debts/lack of money stop us enjoying life.
Hi there Happy Now,
Thankyou for your good wishes , we can muddle along together nicely in the knowledge that out huge debts are pretty spectacular, but we will get there in the end ! I didnt think your debts were quite as high as ours, but then again any debt however big or small isnt good is it ? I havent had the courage to even mention our mortgage yet ! Maybe I should add that to my signature also !
I have enjoyed reading your diary so far, our stories really are quite similar in lots of ways. There are lots of things gone on with us that I havent really detailed I dont think, but seen as I am here for the long haul I'm sure all sorts of stories will crop up along the way !

Just wanted to mention that today has been our 2nd NSD so far of 2012 !! Long may they continue !!
Actually they wont for long, due to all the mentions of new shoes earlier today for both the girls, but I enjoyed relishing in the moment that today we spent nothing !!:T
Left over homemade chilli for tea tonight which was great, now I need to get busy reading some of the other boards for ideas on whatever delights I drag out of the freezer tomorrow.
Work still very slow, so a bit of a shaky start to the New Year. We have no work until Saturday of this week which is a little daunting ( the perils of being self employed ) , but we are trying to stay positive and I have been keeping Mr Pinot busy today with a very long list of jobs that he had no time to do in 2011 !! To be honest he is exhausted, think I have mentioned before hes been working 28/30 days a month and 18 hour days for as long as we can remember to keep us afloat, so I think he deserves a rest . Phone has been ringing today but for dates we already have work for but its a positive sign. January is always slow anyway . Tomorrow with the girls back at school, I will get busy drumming up some more work for us .:DLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Morning Pinot
Agree, hubby needs a rest. DMPs are about moving forward and being allowed to be healthy!
Good luck on the house and work jobs.
I can highly recommend slow cooker, I have saved loads on my grocery bills. There are some really good slow cooker threads on here. I get herbs and spices off ebay now, much cheaper than super markets. Have become a supermarket flirt, quick scoot in with no loyalty to any, just grabbing the best deals from each. Always look at price per KG, it's very easy to be taken in. It sounds a faff but it's sooo easy and I love getting money back form the shopping budget. I cook better as a result of being on the DMP.
Have a great day.

Funny you should say that, my family have often said some of the best meals I have made have been from scrabbling around trying to congure up a recipe from whatever I find lurking in the deepest darkest depths of the cupboard ! I love the slow cooker too, but as we were plouging all our money into making minimum repayments on the cards all of last year ( over £2500 a month ) there wasnt much left for food , the bills were my priority not feeding us as well as I would have liked. Totally wrong messed up logic I know ! It took CCCS to tell me that one ! Anyway I digress , love your tip re the herbs and spices, I will take a look on ebay. Thankyou for all of your tips they really are welcome. I am hoping today once I have finished work to try and look at the food boards etc etc. I will post later what delights I will be offering up tonight to the family !!
Hope you have a lovely day ! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Great. Here here to a better future. Eat better for less, it's all possible with some planning!
HHx0 -
Ok plan for today !
Another NSD hopefully( paid for DD2 lunch , but I have factored the odd school lunch into the budget ) Packed lunch was the plan but with 2 slices of bread left and nothing to put in it other than Clover, I didnt think she would thank me for that one on her first day back ! I did offer her left over (again) chilli but she politely declined !
Work ( drum up some business for January )
Chase payments ( couple of late paying clients that need a kick up the posterior)
Another Clothes for Cash sack is full so I need to arrange for collection of that
Go to bank and pay in my emergency fund money
Be as organised as lots of the other lovely diaries I am reading and organise goals, plans, sign up for challenges etc. Any tips on the best ones would be greatfully appreciated
Get another Box of CDs for Music Magpie ready for collection.

Last night I listed some books for sale on Green Metropolis, I have no idea if its any good but my house is bursting at the seams with books, we are all avid readers, but I think the floors may cave in soon under the weight of them all, so I thought I would give selling them a go.
Ebay - I have never listed clothes before. I was thinking about splitting the girls things into bundles - ie Next aged 9/10 jeans etc grouped together and tops in another bundle etc etc . Does anyone have any advise re this, is this the best way to do things do you think or should I really list everything individually? Think I will still be here this time next year if it is !
Right thats it, I'm off now to work ( well my broom cupboard actually!) . Very strange having Mr Pinot here, he has Music blaring out while he pottering around the house, nice to see him so chilled ! Finding it slightly hard to concentrate but I dont want to upset the mood by telling him to turn it down while I try and work !
Have a good day everyone xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

How's your day gone Pinot?
Sorry can't offer any advice on selling. Am very interested to know what the rate is for cash for clothes and the books though, I may be able to turf some out.
Well done on the emergency fund. Mine is just about the be cleared again with household emergency, grrrrrr. Daren't go back to CCCS and upset the apple cart.
Sounds like Mr Pinot deserves some of the time out for a few days at least. Hope it wasn't too distracting, just make sure he knows how lucky he is!

Hi Pinot can't remember if I said happy new year, I've been lurking as my last post was blocked due to internet going down as I posted eugh!
Glad Mr Pinot is having some time off, 18hrs a day is madness
I'm also trying to eat out of the cupboards at the moment, tonight is going to be something to do with rice, mango chutney, and maybe the poppadoms I've never eaten that you make yourself, although I fear lack of vegetables as they arrive tomorrow eep!
There's lots of great challenges on here, I'm part of the sealed pot challenge where you throw your change in a pot and then use it for xmas. I'm also part of the pay off debt by xmas 2012 challenge which has to be one of the best I've seen so far, everyones so friendly and I can't recommend it enough. Even if you don't think you'll make it to being free by next xmas, you can give a goal you'd like to achieve. There's also the eating out of freezer and cupboards thread too that may interest you if you've not spied it already.
You're doing so well, you've cleared more than I owe in total since you've joined and you're still so positive
Oh fleabay, apparently wait until Feb as xmas unwanted gifts are out there at the moment and you won't get the best prices.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

HH,
Had a really good day thanks! The rate for cash for clothes isn't great ,I think max is £18 a sack. I fill it with things I don't think it's worth even attempting to sell on eBay .the most I have received is £8 a sack as they are rifle through to decide what they do or don't want, everything else I assume is thrown but I figure I would have dumped it anyway, so we get a little bit of bunce money and decluttering in the bargain. It is very easy to do. With the books , again it was easy, when you type in the isbn number ,it gives the description, front page and choice of price to charge and how much postage will be , so you not have to do much. Yet to sell any but I will post on here if I do!
So sorry to hear about your emergency fund and emergency, it never rains but it pours does it ?! I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be able to begin to try and build it up again shortly!
Mr Pinot thoroughly enjoyed his day off, he said its the first time in years he isn't panicking about having a day off, which was good to hear!
Do you have a diary HH or are you just one of these lovely people popping up to jolly us all on in our time of need ?! XLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
