Hi Pinot can't remember if I said happy new year, I've been lurking as my last post was blocked due to internet going down as I posted eugh!
Glad Mr Pinot is having some time off, 18hrs a day is madness
I'm also trying to eat out of the cupboards at the moment, tonight is going to be something to do with rice, mango chutney, and maybe the poppadoms I've never eaten that you make yourself, although I fear lack of vegetables as they arrive tomorrow eep!
There's lots of great challenges on here, I'm part of the sealed pot challenge where you throw your change in a pot and then use it for xmas. I'm also part of the pay off debt by xmas 2012 challenge which has to be one of the best I've seen so far, everyones so friendly and I can't recommend it enough. Even if you don't think you'll make it to being free by next xmas, you can give a goal you'd like to achieve. There's also the eating out of freezer and cupboards thread too that may interest you if you've not spied it already.
You're doing so well, you've cleared more than I owe in total since you've joined and you're still so positive
Oh fleabay, apparently wait until Feb as xmas unwanted gifts are out there at the moment and you won't get the best prices.
How are you? How was the Xmas do and your Xmas? I hope they were good!
Thankyou for the ideas on the challenges. I sort of have mine own sealed ish pot challenge going on at the moment, but it's occasionally dipped into ( hence the sealed-ish:rotfl: name) when one of the girls brings yet another letter home from school needing money for this and that ! I hate those letters!
I love the sound of the pay off debt by Xmas challenge !!! hmmmm maybe bit of a long shot with my totals but hey never say never !
I will investigate the others you mention soon! Thankyou::LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Pinot ... Just popping in to say hi on your diary.
I'm going to go through my fridge / freezer and cupboards at some stage tomorrow and list EVERYTHING ... and then try and make as many meals as possible from everything that is in there, or at the very least add in say £10 per week to try and make it last till the end of the month. That's a quite good challenge. For dance wear etc. have you tried dancegeardirect.co.uk or are you able to get second hand?0 -

Xmas was lovely with my 2y/o nephew although he wanted to open every present at least he didn't cry because we'd hidden all his toys in wrapping paper this year. I did get the lurgy though so that was an entire week off work just before and then we stayed in NYE as OH caught it from me oops.
We love long shots over on that thread, I think there's over 300 people on there now with pledges and total amounts.
Yours is one of my favourite diaries to read by the way, your positive attitude is really inspiringThank you

Scuse the typing again tonight, I'm balancing on my lap while half watching Bank Vault on tv! I think Mr Pinot should apply, it could cure all our problems and then I could dish the remainder out to you all, how lovely would that be?!
Good day today, not quite NSD in the end, mr Pinot spent £7 on bread and milk .
The postie brought us nothing but a Lakeland catalogue which was immediately deposited in the re cycling! I can't believe I went running own the stairs desperate for the mail when I heard it plop on the floor! Not long ago it was stacked unopened on the stairs . How times have changed!
Didn't drum up any work unfortunately but I am sure something will crop up. Give me a Few days and I may begin to panic.
Had lovely conversation with our mortgage provider , who advised me that after they messed up and then had to credit our mortgage account with £12000 we are now approx 9 months in advance on the mortgage ! I'm thrilled, we were £2000 in arrears at beginning of December ! Our options were to not pay for 9 months, take the £12000 in a cheque or reduce the £12 grand from the mortgage and term which is what I chose to do ,rightly or wrongly. Our mortgage is £335,000 and we have spent too long prioritising the credit cards over the roof over our heads. Endowment been cashed in, all payment holidays used, mortgage arrears and 18 months of paying interest only and it's not been reducing. So that was my very definite and final decision. Mr Pinot asked that if we really needed the money could we access it , but I am determined not too have too.
Raiding the cupboards tonight, dinner was butternut squash , sweet pot and pasta stew with garlic bread, all washed down with a cold glass of Pinot of course? I feel like I'm living like a king......oops a queen !!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

That's on my agenda for tomorrow as well .It's actually quite good fun trying to drum up something edible and believe me cooking really isn't my favourite past time, I would rather be cleaning ! I have seen some pork chops lurking and found a Jamie Oliver recipe for chops with cannelloni beans and tender stem broccoli and I have that as well, so that's tomorrows dinner sorted. If I play my cards right Mr Pinot may even offer to cookI haven't done a proper shop since before Xmas and the challenge you mention sounds great!
Yep I have tried dancegeardirect, thankyou ! I always used to give Dd2 her big sisters hand me downs but as she now has the bigger feet and the last shoes I bought they both had the same size, I have nothing to hand down anymore! I might take a look at eBay, I stupidly gave my girls old tap shoes away before realising I could get about £10 a pair on eBay. Won't be doing that again!
Hope you have a good day tomorrow xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I didnt think your debts were quite as high as ours, but then again any debt however big or small isnt good is it ? I havent had the courage to even mention our mortgage yet !
Ah right, I assumed that as you hadn't mentioned a mortgage you didn't have one! Wouldn't that be lovely!? OK then, maybe you have trumped me on the debt-total, but either way we both have a long way to go and here's to us getting there as cheerfully and quickly as possible  xLBM Dec 2011. Had a really good day thanks! The rate for cash for clothes isn't great ,I think max is £18 a sack. I fill it with things I don't think it's worth even attempting to sell on eBay .the most I have received is £8 a sack as they are rifle through to decide what they do or don't want, everything else I assume is thrown but I figure I would have dumped it anyway, so we get a little bit of bunce money and decluttering in the bargain. It is very easy to do. With the books , again it was easy, when you type in the isbn number ,it gives the description, front page and choice of price to charge and how much postage will be , so you not have to do much. Yet to sell any but I will post on here if I do!
So sorry to hear about your emergency fund and emergency, it never rains but it pours does it ?! I will keep my fingers crossed that you will be able to begin to try and build it up again shortly!
Mr Pinot thoroughly enjoyed his day off, he said its the first time in years he isn't panicking about having a day off, which was good to hear!
Do you have a diary HH or are you just one of these lovely people popping up to jolly us all on in our time of need ?! X
Morning Pinot
Thanks for the information. I would really appreciate the link for the book resource.
No diary for me, just joining in here and there!
Have a great day.

Link for books is http://www.greenmetropolis.com/. I have no idea if its any good but the though of sitting forever on ebay or Amazon adding each book filled me with dread and this was so easy !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
