  • Great diary Pinot, I have subscribed.

Know what you mean about picking the tab up and being taken for granted in other ways. Lots of the change comes from within. It has been interesting watching people's behaviour when you don't offer to pay. The first out the taxi last to the bar gang!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with your journey. Who did you do your dmp with in the end?

  • Ok Xmas is over and I'm now on that manic cleaning frenzy that always comes after it ! I am desperate to get the tree down and packed away inthe loft for another year. It jsut looks so sorry for itself with no pressies underneath ! I will leave some fairy lights in the dining room for a bit of all year round sparkle though as I did last year !

Hope everybody had a a really lovely Christmas and looking forward to New Year ! My rundown of Xmas is as follows:-

Xmas Eve - Fun, but ended up in me having a present panic, worried the children wouldnt like what we had bought. Think it was down to the fact that I received a card from Santander telling us to expect a doorstep visit on the 29th Dec. In my heart of hearts I think I knew they wouldnt arrive, but it still freaked me out and sent me into a panicky mood.

Xmas Day - Well the Girls adored all of their presents, what on earth was I worrying about ?! Had a lovely day spent with my sister , nieces and nephews and my parents. Unfortunately my dad wasnt too well so caused a bit of worry. Home about midnight for a nice glass of Baileys and a look at the devastation we had left behind when we had gone out in the morning. Settled down very pleased with ourselves that we had managed to give the girls a lovely Xmas and still had money left in the bank, not much but some and not one item had been paid for on a card ! What a lovely feeling !

Boxing Day - Went into meltdown about the whole sorry DMP / Money Saga. Was a total stresshead. Had my parents for dinner, argued with Mr Pinot, stressed out at anybody who was in my way and picked a fight with them all !! What on earth was wrong with me ? I am going to blame the Santander pressure, my dad being ill, I was still feeling rough with this cold as well ! I really needed the Pinot that night , which thankfully sent me into a lovely sleep where I woke at 11.30 the following day ! I felt so guilty but Mr Pinot assured me that I obviously needed it, think his comments must have been slightly guilt induced as he has had a terrible cold and been snoring soooo loudly for the last week I have barely slept a wink ! The sofa has become my new best friend in the middle of the night x

Anyway without boring everybody with my daily ups and downs from Boxing Day until today, all is now good !! Today I can take on the world and his wife including all their problems and debts. Why does money do this to you ?!! Santander didnt show up yesterday ( funny that ) . Had a lovely day yesterday just DS2 and I. We tidied presents, had a big clear out, threw away loads of bags of rubbish and sorted some for ebaying .

I am now going to write my list of all things moneywise and catch up on other peoples diaries while DS1 is hopefully getting busy with her homework and DS2 is Roller blading with her friends. The piles of ironing can wait for another day !

Thankyou HH, I hope you had a lovely Xmas ! Lovely to hear someone knows what I mean about the Picking Up of the Tab ! Some people will be in for a hell of a shock when they go out with us in years to come, seen as we are most defiantely in this for the long haul !

We have done our DMP with CASHflow. The phones have been silent , although they would have only got the offer letters just after Xmas, but as I believe its still a fairly new concept it will be interesting to see how well it is received. I'm in two minds as our offers of payment are pretty low considering the amount of debt outstanding, but am trying to stay positive.

    Thankyou for subscribing :) xx

  • Well I'm actually disappointed, I really want someone to answer me !

Mr Pinot brought me a cheque for £7.00, that will go in the emergency pot, it was for a another sack of clothes sent to Cash for Clothes, they werent worth putting on ebay.

    A bank statement - £134.80

A letter from Equifax re Fraud, not sure if I mentioned but Mr Pinot recently has been a victim of fraud and we discovered someone has been opening online betting accounts in his name ! Just another little problem to deal with. Actually other than the betting company themselves, who were next to useless, Equifax, Experian etc have been really good. we experienced similar with Mobile Phone accounts being opened in our names about two years ago and we got no help whatsoever.

And I also received another Clothes Sack for me to fill with clothes myself and DS2 sorted out yesterday. That was what the official looking letter contained ......... a sack !!

I will wait with baited breath for the Postie tomorrow now then !!

  • Peaceful Christmas here thanks.

Currently rangling with one of the creditors pleading them to stop interest. It's only fair when our credit rating is shot to pieces I think. We will see.

I have never heard of Cashflow. Do you have to pay for it?

Sounds like you are getting all organised practically and financially. Good luck on getting the tree down!

    Enjoy your afternoon

I'm still looking at the tree, not sure I can be bothered to climb in the loft to get the boxes down ! Maybe it can wait another day !

No CASHflow is free and the person we have dealt with has been absolutely amazing. At the end of the phone or email pretty much whenever we have any questions night and day. Who is your DMP with ?

I'm sorry you are having trouble freezing the interest with your creditor , like I say we are still waiting to hear on that front. Let me know how you get on ? I totally agree though, credit rating shot to pieces, so why on earth wont they just play ball ?

  • hello you sorry to hear your boxing day wasn't so good, neither was mine, but that's cos i was ill lol.... I've never heard of cash for clothes before i might have to google it see what it's all about i have plenty of clothes that are outgrown but the way my kids wear them they're no good for ebay usually :o

what bank is your dh with? When i was with barclays I had 2 lots of 'fraudulent' activity on the account. And i'm ashamed to say now, i ran my bank in such a state that i never even noticed £800 missing :o:o And it was only when my bank card was declined and i called them they told me they had seen suspicious activity.!! both times i got the money back really quick though so i have to praise barclays for one thing they can do right at least :p;)
