  • Phew !! Well thank god the weekend is over ! Think I was more stressed than DD2 about the 11 plus, not that we have put any pressure on her to do this, the pressure is all her own, she is so very determined to get into the schoolof her choice, but it really is a lottery. Sleepless night on fri for worrying about it all ( but for a change I wasnt lying awake thinking about the debt,s o thats good !) Up at 6 on Saturday for the Big DAy ! Very proud of her, she was calm and collected despite soem poor children being sick at the registration point with nerves. She came out smiling so I breatherd a huge sight of relief !

Not much to report on the Debt Busting Front. Sack of old clothes fetched £9, cheque arrived refunding us for out of pocket expenses re a RTA my Daughter was involved in back in 2007, Quidco paying £40 into account , letter to Capital One offering to accept the £850 refund in respect of charges been sent back to them, and paperwork now signed and returned to NAtionwide for new account. Now I need to reallt get this SOA sorted, I knwo in my head but I do think it woudl be good to bare all and post on here for all to see. Another busy day tomorrow, but hopefully I will get a chance xx

  • Well so much for my plans to write every day !! Things have been very up in the air for us, basically going round in circles re the DMP etc. I have had so many questions as to the rights and wrongs of what we are doing and also lots of differing advice so have spent hours and hours sifting through everything trying to get sorted. I didntwant to jump in with two feet and do something we werent entirely comfortable with. We have decided against CCCS, as great as they were, but some of the advice they gave wasnt entirely conistent ( although I think that could be because our situation hasnt been totally cut and dried) We are planning to go with CASHflow. Token payments sent to all creditors this month. Cheques have all been cashed and Marks and Spencer wrote immediately with a very pleasant letter just asking us to continue paying what we can afford. No mention of frozen interest yet, but I am still in the process of setting all of this up. I&E Form completed last night online so today hopefully we will fine tune that and organise an offer for each creditor and in the next few days get the letters off to them . Anyway new bank account up and running, still transferring a few direct bedits over but its a step in the right direction.

HAve been really pleased with myself with the Xmas pressie buying, curling tongs for DD1 bought with Boots points, PErfume for DD1 bought with Debenhams points, Wii games with AMazon vouchers !! Why oh why didnt I do this before. Christmas is nearly organised and I'm feeling very positive ! Decorations are finally up, but we have a suicidal reindeer who has come off of the roof int hese high winds and is tangled int he lights. Must resuce him today !!

I'm going to try and write everyday now even if its one line !! All these other diaries are putting me to shame !

Well done pinot, you sound like you're going to be starting the new year in a much more positive position :) Congratulations on buying presents with points, I was exactly the same as you and always forgot about the points. Will you have to pay CASHflow a fee each month?

  • hi pinot grigio (love the name & the wine lol)

Good luck with sorting everything out, we're on a dmp, but as you say it's not always the best route for everyone. Have you thought about any other options such as an iva? And make sure you claim back some ppi i bet you have a few floating around :)

Good luck also to your dd on her 11+. My son passed 2 years ago, along with 150 other boys out of 800 applicants  was so happy:D. Then they told us there were only 90 places available :( and so he didn't get a place at grammar anyway and ended up being offered the local comp on special measures.! I hope you have far more luck than we did :T

I'm going to subscribe :A and I hope all your creditors are good to you and agree with the no interest terms :)

Hi Kerri. Yep we are looking forward to the New Year. Brand new start ! I have being really sad with the present buying and have written myself a little list with how much the presents should have cost me and how much I actually paid ! Slightly worrying how such little things are so pleasing these days ! :rotfl:Just had an £20 Amazon voucher courtesty of Lovefilm, so thats my nephews present sorted now. Its amazing how those points build up.

No we dont pay CASHflow, still in the early stages of setting it up. They are going over the I&E at the moment. We filled it in as per the one we did with CCCS so should be ok. Then its gettign the offers off. I went with it as its not entirely self managed but you appear have more control than with PAyPlan or CCCS.

I will keep posting as to how its going !
