Aww I didn't think you were the type of Mummy to always miss things :) it's one of the joys of self-employment. How lovely that she understood. Sorry if I went on a bit, past demons I think

Don't be daft, of course you didn't go on.:D

Actually I think I over compensate sometimes and run myself ragged to make sure I am everywhere. My parents ran their own business and were always very very busy, although they tried their best to be around and Mr Pinots parents rarely showed up to watch him do anything apparently. I think knowing how I felt when there was none there to watch me makes me go a bit over the top now, but as you say I am lucky in being self employed that I can usually re arrange things to be able to be there. Its not always possible though and it probably does them good for me not to turn up once in a while, or else they will grow up to click their fingers and think I can come running !!

  • Well, my lot really aren't usually fussy, will generally eat anything .....but........ Happy, your theory was correct, it really was well and truly awful !!:rotfl: Even the cat wasn't interested !!

The children recoiled in horror at the smell when they walked in the front door and refused to even entertain it ! They ended up with a veggie pie, savoury rice and broccoli ! Hoping that Mr Pinot may take pity on me and force himself to eat it, I poured him a nice cold glass of vino when he walked in the door asked him lovingly about his day before settling him down at the table for his lovely dinner ! The poor man, he really tried to be polite, but in the end there was nothing else for it and we dined on poached eggs on toast instead !!

Hmmmmm best Mrs Pinot gets her bottom down to the shops today and get some food in the house I think ,before any other weird and wonderful conncotions pop into my mind !! :o

Yes BR it was Ash Wednesday, DD2 came home with a lovely black splodge on her face which they weren't allowed to wash off !! :rotfl:

I had completely forgotten all about pancake day on Tuesday, I thought it was next week ( I always thought it was in March, was it early this year ?!) Is there a connection between Pancake Day and Ash Wednesday ? Or am I showing my stupid side again ? Best I ask the girls tonight, they know far more about all of this than I do !!:rotfl:

Grrrr, not sure if mentioned this or not, but Mr Pinot got a parking fine of £65 at the station a few weeks ago .

He hadn't parked there for a while, as he often drives into to work or I drop him at the station. On this occasion I couldn't collect him in the evening, so he drove. It was 5am, the snow was thick on the ground and he put his £3.00 in the slot as usual which was thrown back out at him on a number of occasions. The ticket office was closed, the sign re parking fees was covered in snow and iced over, so he left a very clear explanatory note in the windscreen with his phone number on for anyone to call if there was a problem, also telling them that I could pop down and pay the necessary fee if needed, once they told him how much it was Anyway they didn't bother calling , just slapped a fine under the wipers and tootled off ! It turns out the parking is now £3.10 per day .

We are currently battling away with them and refusing not to pay, but we seem to be dealing with complete numpties who aren't grasping the concept that there was no one at the station to ask, it was thick snow and ice and the fees were not displayed !!!

Anyway thats enough of my rant.

I discovered Zapper yesterday and they are buying many CDs, Games etc for more than Music Magpie, so after working today I am planning on filling another box of lovely things to sell. We have relisted an item on ebay that didn't sell last week, but the other item that sold hasn't been paid for or collected ! I have delegated that job to Mr Pinot to sort out !

Oh not managed any NSD this week as I was planning too, and today I need to buy tickets for the show DD1 is performing in tonight which will cost £15. I think I will begin my NSD challenge again in March and try and keep track of it properly this time .:)

Have a lovely day everyone xx

  • Pinot sorry to hear your tea didn't turn out quite as well as expected. I know when our food supplies ran low a few weeks ago the boys made fish finger pizza, they loved it......not for me thank you.:)

How frustrating re the parking ticket. Fingers crossed they see sense. xx
