  • Just popping in for a quick catch up. Great news about the cheque. :j :j

Could you pm me the rice pudding recipe? Mr F hates the stuff but me and the boys love it. We don't have it very often so it would be a nice treat.

Wow Mrs PG what a busy few days..cats, hair cuts, rice puddings and MBNA..only been away for a couple of days and suddenly 3 pages of posts have appeared!! Great to see. THRILLED about MBNA..a real result!!

Raspberry ripple ice cream sounds great...can anyone PM me that please?? And sweet potato bread...yum yum. Agree would never have thought about using a SC for that. Was wondering about a Remoska? Does anyone have one they use/ love?

Think it must be PG time...( brizzle slopes off to fridge!)

    Brizzle

Hope you thoroughly enjoyed that sneaky PG you disappeared for last night brizzled ! Mine is still keeping nicely chilled in the very special wine cooler that is the back doorstep ! I bring it in yesterday though as the window cleaner arrived and I didn't want him to think it had been left outside for him !

Have Pm'd you the recipe HH sent me for the ice team. Sweet potato read is yummy, but I have never tried making it int he slow cooker, thats a job for another day I think.

What on earth is a Remoska ?!1:o

Rushing off now to google :)

  • So, I'm going to pick your brains now - how might (and would it an option this early on) I go about claiming fees back for Mr BR from the Yorkshire Bank? The last few transactions on his account have been fees for one thing or another. I might just double check his statement and see how many (if any) were added after they'd been told we were on a DMP)

Well I would say you have nothing to lose. Are they bank charges you are hoping to claim for ? Those, I understand are more difficult to claim dependant how far you are going back. If they are quite recent, a simple plea based on your current situation may be worth a go if you haven't already tried that. We have been successful with Nat West in the past, although I am intending to attempt to claim back some charges going back a few years on the grounds of hardship, but I think I have a pretty strong case as they have had lots of detail in writing re this, so can't argue too much that they didn't know. I would certainly make a start by totting up the fees to begin with.

I am no expert in this by any means, but I will pm you later on if thats ok xx

Thank you BOF. I used the recipe on the back of the packet which I think was the same as the one HH posted a few pages back, and just hoped for the best with the slow cooker. I will pm you x

I thoroughly enjoyed it as I really can't remember the last time I ate it. Brings back memories of semolina and jam and sponge cake with chocolate custard we used to get for school dinners !!! :D

  • I fear you all may get a little bored as this diary seems to moving at a rate of knots this week with so much rambling ! I am definitely finding if I write things down, its such an achievement to be able to say :j "Ive done it !" Not quite got the hang of putting a line through the list yet, so I settle with a very large red in your face DONE !!

So just to update if any of you get an opportunity to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel you must go ! Freebie tixs last night made it even better of course, but it was a great movie. Favourite quote from the film was:-

"Things will get better in the end, but if they don't , then its not the end !!

    Anyway on to today :-

Sold another book ! So must get that packaged up and posted !

    Booked Opticians appointment for DD1/2

Last dribble of Feb's money due in arrived today, so I have paid another £70 to the tax man, and updated my signature ! My signature updates will slow down once they have been paid off, but for now its fun to see it reducing !

Washing done and hanging up to dry, unfortunately west facing garden means we have no sun in it , so rather than hanging it in the front garden for all to see ,have had to hang it on the clothes airer. This airer has been literally on its last legs for about 2 years but I refuse to buy another. Couple of days ago the damn thing collapsed even more, therefore losing two rungs of drying space. I really think I may have to bite the bullet and replace it, but I would rather not ! I am getting very stingy these days !

Off to a friends for tea tonight, so no cooking for me ! :T

    Collected Mr Pinots prescription.

I was hoping for a no spend day, but after paying for prescription and postage and updating DD1s dinner money not he system thatsout of the window, but maybe it will be classed as a LSD instead !:D

Hope everyone is having a good day x
