  • Just found this thread and on page 20, loving it so far :-) Although I do blame you for my dream of dozens of letters pouring through the letter box without stopping.....

    Hello Pinot,

Just caught up with the last few days of your diary.

Loving the idea of the good things jar, will definitely remember that one for when my girls are a bit older.

Hope the work gets sorted soon and you can jiggle days round more! Not sure what to suggest on the car really, have you looked into how much you would get for scrap?

    Have a good weekend xx

That's great news about the 6 months of work, PG. DH had an email today, so that's 5 weeks of solid work for us :) Hopefully we can start to get more work for after that.

Can I ask - how easy was it to get the HMRC to let you pay the corp tax in instalments. Really hoping it doesn't come to that but relying on one big invoice getting paid and you know how that can go.

I'm DD free tonight. She's at a sleepover so it's just the 3 of us.
    Enjoy your houseful

Last year the HMRC were quite happy to allow us to pay in installments. We set a minimum amount per month that we guaranteed we would pay them and it worked well. This year has not been so easy, as we were paying off the year before, we couldnt also save for this year as well and they have refused to enter into an agreement with us and also wont respond to my letters. On that note I am paying them as much as we can when we can and it appears to be keeping the wolf fromt he door for now !! I am keeping my fingers crossed that you wont need to go down that path though .

Sleepover was good thanks, they were good as gold, they went to sleep about 2 ish I think and Mr PG and I managed to sit and watch a film, just the two of us for uninterrupted for the first time in ages ! we watched The Next Three Days, really enjoyed it x

Granny - I am feeling much beter thankyou although not sleeping all the well still, but hey ho ! If only someone would hurry up and pay us, that would help !

Cuddlyrunner - Lovely to see you and welcome !! Huge respect to you for making it as far as page 20, feel free to skip a few pages....it does tend to go on and on and on ...........

Mummy - Scrap would bring in about £2500 I think for the car. Silly I know but I am really sentimental about it, it holds so many lovely memories and fun trips out in it, the thought of it being squished for scrap is horrible !! But you are right, it is an option , thankyou ! :D

Sleepover went well as mentioned above, although they forgot to tell me what time they were being collected so I answered the door to a mum who I had never met before looking particularly scary at 10 am with wet hair and no makeup. As I said to DD1 some warning as to pick up time would have been appreciated.

Mr Pinot trotted off to work at about 6am today, he will be home about 11pm. It was nice to grab an hour or so to myself this morning while the girls were all still sleeping. Its been lovely having Mr PG around, but I have missed a bit of time to myself.:o

Jobs for today have been ironing, ironing and ironing. The girls have been putting theirs away as I have ironed it, but I dont appear to be making much of dent in it.

DD2 has been doing fashion shows most of the afternoon, trying to decide what to wear for a party this evening she has been invited to. Apparently all of her friends are in heels, DD2 is 11, I am not happy about that although she has raided my shoe drawers in the hope she can change my mind. ;)

DD1 has faffed about most of the day, trying on clothes that she bought herself yesterday with her Christmas vouchers, but I have just managed to get her to wrap a birthday present as we need to go to a friends this afternoon as its her daughters birthday. Think I will drop in and see my parents as well , then get back just in time to get DD2 ready for her party. She is being dropped off but I have drawn the short straw of pick up tonight. Normally I wouldnt mind too much but there is no fuel in my car and not much money left in the bank. I need to do alot of running around as it is this afternoon and then to do pick up and drop the friend home will be more fuel. The party is in town, the friend lives 20 mins outside of town, therefore 40 mins the wrong way to get home and 40 mins of fuel useage I woul rather not be paying for. Not quite sure how I got roped into that one I must admit ! Serves me right for not liking to say no I suppose. I will raid the emergency funds to put fuel in the tank.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far xx

  • Onto page 71 but I really must take a break now :-) What with the lemon drizzle cake, the crocheted knickers, pelvic floor exercises (I was guilted into doing some whilst reading), the boiler breaking and Mr PG's car parts not arriving in time-I have ignored poorly Mr CR who has been sent home from his job with Mr T, apparently they don't want him infecting the customers. I shall be back tonight.
I may have to stalk other diaries now though, did the person who was engaged but bought her OH a ring and was going to propose actually do it? what was the answer??
Well done all of you for taking stock of your debts though, I am amazed at the tenacity shown xx
  • I am caught up :-) But what happened when you tackled the dance teacher face to face???
