What a terrible nights sleep I had.Not helped by Mr PG's inscessant snoring I hasten to add. I need to get some more of those snoring strips I made him use last year.

The stupid money thing was worrying me again, and I thought I was doing so well !

I am busy now, but I think I will write it all down here later, as a big long list of silly money woes, that will help me focus I hope.

I need a new plan for 2013 that will work well and quickly ! :D

Granny - The Scrap Book is a lovely idea, I have a few on the go already for various things that I cant bear to part with . Im not sure I would be able to part with any Good Things though and would keep them all !

On the Good Things subject for anyone thinking of doing it, remember to write the date on your note ! :D

Perhaps each of you could pick your favourite of the year and then one extra for good measures. x

Woo, really really hoping this helps your anxiety :T

On my front I posted the direct debit mandate to our maintenance company today so that should be sorted now. I've not had a bill for ground rent though and I'm sure that was due last month, not sure who to contact as obviously we didn't pay it last year.

Sadly only 4 confirmed days for the month and 6 possible days at the moment. It will improve I am pretty sure of that but will be slow coming in and last minute. I have spotted a couple of contracts up for grabs which although not entirely our area, they are worth a look into as well. In the meantime Mr PG has been kept busy with his list of very very overdue jobs !

Keep Smiling Mrs PG !! Last year we had one confirmed day and no possibles on the 3rd Jan 2012 I do believe :D

Happy New Year Fallen, hope you and OH enjoyed your time together over Christmas !

Not being very well up on Ground Rent etc, my first thought was that the Company responsible would have been mentioned somewhere in the paperwork when you bought the flat, or am I barking up the wrong tree totally ?!

The house is all quiet, they have all gone out, the girls to Singing Lessons and Mr PG has volunteered to do the running around as he is here for once. I was glad to take him up on that offer !

So as I have a few minutes peace I have decided to post the random night time thoughts that kept me well and truly awake last night !

1 - Only half the Mortgage repayment was made last month. The other £1000 was due to be paid with an invoice that was due in before Christmas but has still not appeared, therefore I cannot pay it at the moment. :(

2 - My Car - It really is on its last legs. We need a 4x4 for work and I have no idea how on earth we will pay for another. It has now done over 190K miles, the windscreen has a huge crack in it, it needs three new tyres and rear brake pads. The exhaust appears to have a hole in it, therefore if I dont have the air bloweres on in the car, the car fills with fumes. Obviously not that healthy really, so to combat this we have the air circulators on permanently, but when the weather is cold or wet the windows dont clear properly and I have trouble seeing !! This is also not ideal ! There is a leak so it is also smelly and damp ! We are trying to keep it going but I am unsure how much longer we can do this for.:(

3 - Mr PGs car which is a ittle car he uses when he doesnt need the 4x4 as it uses less fuel. This needs new wiper blades. I have bought those today, they were only £26 but I still would prefer not to have topay for them !

4 - Inland REvenue want £300 from me for Personal Tax

5 - Inland Revenue want £7000 in Corporation Tax

    6 - Accoutants want £600

7 - School want £200 for DD1's Music Trip in July . This was due to be paid in November

8 - The gym want £42.50 which is the amount agreed to suspend the membership for this month .

9 - Water rates bills both overdue

    10 - Dance Classes want £65

    11 - Singing teacher wants £90

12 - December was quiet, we have just enough money due in to cover all personal bills, if we are very careful and as long as we are paid on time or at all. This though does not cover the Insurance for both cars, breakdown, Business phones / mobiles, fuel, hotels etc. One of the jobs we are waiting on will mean a weeks worth of hotels bills need paying. We need the work but we dont need to be stumping up the bills. The upside is that with not much work on ,our usually sky high fuel and train fare bills are pretty low, so there is a silver lining, sort of !

13 - The girls birthdays are fast approaching. I wanted to be able to pick some bits up for them in the sales and put away for their birthdays but I am unable to do that. :(

I shouldnt really worry, it could be so much worse, but I am just a bit flumoxed at the moment as to how I can pay the bills above when there is not much coming in. I really could have done without the whole food expenditure over Christmasas it ate into the money I would have used to cover the bills above. Whats done is done, Chrismtas was lovely, I had no choice but to stump up for all of the food, next Chrismtas though is someone elses turn ! Christmas was paid for, no debts accrued ( just a few unapid bills instead !) , no credit cards used. This is the third Christmas now without a card in sight . I am very proud of that !

Now I am awake all of the above doesnt seem so bad.

Just heard a car door go, my peace is shattered.......... I will be back !!!

I think with all of the above to bother you, all at the same time, it is hardly surprising that you were worrying. However, as you have said, it isn't as bad in the true light of day, things always seem worse in the early hours when you are struggling to sleep. Often just writing things down helps to put them into perspective.

I don't have much advice I can offer, other than to say, you have been here before and got through it then and will again. You are doing amazingly well with a varied income that relies on others paying up on time.

I think if it was me, I would put all of the above into the order they need to be tackled and not worry about things that are out of your control and that haven't happened yet, eg vehicles. Prioritise the things that really matter and deal with the embarrassment of being late with gym/singing/dance by explaining to yourself that you will pay these when you are paid yourself.
