Have been AWOl for a while ( a long while) and lurking for a few days feeling sheepish, but had to comment on the horse situation. Everyone else is spot on with the extra money horses cost. My neighbour wanted our DD to share a loan, but I said no (bad mother). I'm so glad I did. DD has moved off horses and onto musical theatre which she adores. Although still expensive, it doesn't equal the horse and I see my neighbour spending time every day at the stables and breathe a sigh of relief because I just don't have that kind of time with full time work and a dh who works away.
