  • Oh, and yes, I am STILL working my way through the wine! Just a few bottles left now. Maybe I need to buy myself one of those fishbowl wine glasses from earlier in the thread... :-)

  • Having had no time to write for a few days, I am updating with a complete mundane post today !

I have just found £5.59 lurking in the bottom of some handbags and have put them in my Roses Jar, which is looking 3/4's full these days ! :D

I will try and get back on later to update properly and have a nosey round the diaries.

    Hope you are all well.

  • Be prepared, having not bored you all to tears with lengthy rambles for a few days, I feel the need to burble away this morning before settling down to work !

SBO - How is the Wine Free Challenge going ? I seemed to have started drinking again since the girls have been back at school. Not full on drinking you understand:rotfl:just the odd glass here and there in the evenings, but I had nearly given up over the summer, so I am a bit annoyed with myself ! I think its stress related, if I am wound up or tetchy in the evenings I seem to reach for a glass of vino.

Mr Dec - I will nip over to your diary to see how the Ebaying has been going ! I am glad to hear you still have a few bottles of Nice Vino left. As for the fishbowl wine glass, we actually stumbled upon a huge Windlight on a stem in TK M@xx a few weeks ago ! Mr Pinot decided that it could be easily adapted as a "Big Carl " from Cougar Town if the need arose ! To be used only in deeply stressful situations of course ! The girls were mortified though at the suggestion, so we stepped away from Big Carl and I bought a candle instead ! :D

The weekend disappeared in a flash, DD1s sleepover was successful, the girls were all lovely. After demolishing bacon sarnies Saturday morning I kicked them all out and we whizzed off for DD1s singing lesson. She has more Vocal exams coming up in December and they have skipped her four levels, so she needs to get practising, but as she has been on antibiotics for a few weeks now and barely able to speak, all practise has gone out of the window. After her lesson we visited my paretns and amazingly it was beautiful sunshine and we sat in the garden for a few hours. DD2 helped them do some jobs, sweeping and hanging out the washing, she is such a good girl while DD1 talked for England !

Sunday was spent on homework mainly and washing and ironing all the usual, BUT Mr Pinot did have a day off and he decided to cook. He wants to add to his repertoire which consists of two dishes, so he decided to make a chicken and chorizo Paella. I have no idea how many he thought he was feeding but I would anticipate 10 !! He did say ,as we sat down to eat and questioned the amount of food before us, that he had forgotten to look at the quantities on the recipe ! Needless to say, Monday night was leftovers night, which was good as saved me thinking about food as it was a very busy evening.:)

Yesterday was work and tackling letters to the Predators again. I managed to get a letter off to We£tc0t and A££0w Gl0b@l re the missing £300. The Account has been put on hold while they investigate ,so I am putting the monthly payments that should be made to them in an account for when it is resolved. It has been passed to another DCA, who are very accomodating and pleasant ( at the moment !) and they are investigating with the help of A££0w Gl0b@l . I have sent them every piece of correspondance and proof that these amounts have been made to We£tc0t and will sit back and wait !

Legal Letters have been served to the Client who owes us money dating back a few years. They have responded in a complete panic, offering to meet to discuss. Our Lawyers have fired off another letter to their side, but the odds are stacked against them. If we will ever see the money I am unsure but the way they have behaved is appalling but I cant go into proper detail on here sadly !

I have another Cash For Clothes Bag waiting to be collected and I sold about £30 worth of items on ebay over the weekend. There are 18 items currently for sale. They wont bring much , but it all adds up.:D

Yesterday I bought a Christmas present for my mum from the girls from Ac£ica, I love that site although sadly I am unable to buy half of the things I see. I did treat myself to a clock for the kitchen for £7.00 though . Its fab, looks as though it has melted if that makes sense :p We have no kitchen clock, my girls hate wearing watches and the clock timer on the oven has broken, so they spend half their time with no idea at all what time of day it is which drives me insane. I am hoping the clock arrives soon !

Work for October is slowly coming in. We have 6 confirmed days withextra 5 possible days. Mr Pinot worked 28 out fo 30 days in September, so if things are a little slow we should just scrape by. To be honest he could do with a few days at home, he wants to try and make some pictures and we want to get a website up and running before Christmas, but we have had no time to do it . There are so many jobs that need doing in the house, I could do with him here for a few days, although when he is we are niggling at each other ,as its such a rarity to have him home. We need to find a happy medium in amongst this madness ! He has been away since Monday down on the South Coast in this horrible wet and windy weather, so I dont envy him that though !

Now I have a question for you all !!

Is anyone out there Arty ? DD1 needs to do some Course work for GCSE Art,they are studying John Piper. She has been asked to replicate one of his paintings called Houses on the Front and also to do a piece of writing about the painting, what his influences for the painting were, where it was painted etc etc. We seem to be able to find out about every other painting he ever did but this one. The teacher chose this specifically for her ,stating that it is similar to her style of work. We have spend an age trawling the internet for information. I have found an Art Gallery a stones throw from where Mr Pinot is working which are showing John Pipers Work so he is going to try and find time to go and visit and ask them for some help if he can, although he cant guarantee getting there ! I was goign to nip to the library today, but its Wednesday and it is closed, so that plan wont work.

So my please for help is - "Has anyone reading heard of the painting or know anything at all about it please ?!! "

On that note I wish you all a lovely wet , rainy day , I am off to work now . Byee x

I studied art, but not, unfortunately, John Piper. I'm going to the library later, I'll see if I can see anything and let you know.

I always over-estimate recipe quantities too, Mr PG has my vote there! And he did save you cooking next day - hurrah for Mr PG :T

Not your longest post by far....

A glass of vino in the evening is supposed to be good for you. A glass, mind, not a bottle....

Goodness me NL, did you stay awake ?

Mr PG has text to say he needs to move location so sadly wont make it to the Art Gallery for DD1 . Lets hope there are Arty people on here, although I suspect they didnt think they would be reading a DFD and need to get involved in a 14 year olds homework aassignment ! :rotfl:

The leftovers were fab but sadly not good enough to eat last night as well ! :p

Really Piq, have I written longer posts ?!! How Embarrasing ?! :rotfl:

I thought Libraries were shut on Wednesdays, like in the olden days when everything was shut on a Wednesday ?! Best I check the opening time sout. DD1 was supposed to have gone to the library after school yesterday but forgot ! Grr !

Yes Hurrah for Mr PG and his now expanding recipe book ! I need him here more often to cook for us all !

DD2 and I decided on Monday night to to do some bits to go with Mr PG's leftovers, get dinner prepared and in the fridge for last night, as we were in and out all evening and make a Fruit Tart with leftover fruit that needed using. We thought we were being clever and organised ! We made a B@ref00t C0nte££a recipe we found online. It was the simplest thing ever, but we somehow managed to ruin it ! We proudly served it up............... but it was unedible ! :o

Oh and can I have two glasses of wine .........as long as its not the bottle ?!! :D
